I got an idea and ran with it. However, my attention was taken away from writing this a lot and it was written over 2 days so if it seems really crappy that's why. (Also sorry for the wait!)

Some would say you were dense, but you thought that was bullcrap. However, that was really just proof they were right. For if you weren't, you would've picked up on Ned's hints much sooner.

"There's a spider on you," Ned commented, glancing up from his laptop as he noticed the creature on you. You freaked out and went berserk, flailing and trying to get the unseen arachnid off you. Peter, who had his hand on yours before you were told of this spider, was looking at you with fear. When you stopped to take a breath he surveyed you to make sure it was gone and reassured you it wasn't there anymore.

Ned just snickered at his subtlety and returned to his laptop. He was going to keep track of how many times this worked before you figured out what he was hinting at. Ned knew Peter was Spider-man, but Peter hadn't told his crush (you) yet. You two had been flirting for so long but hadn't made it official, and what Ned saw as the perfect way to seal the deal was revealing Peter's biggest secret. He had been eager to share his knowledge with someone, and he felt he'd explode if he didn't let the secret go soon.

The next time Ned pointed out the spider on you, you were eating lunch with him, Peter, and a few of your friends. Somehow you'd gotten your friends to trust the two boys weren't total losers and agree to sit by them. You and Peter were holding hands under the table so they didn't see when Ned got up to dump his tray and whispered "There's a spider on you" in your ear as he passed.

Your eyes widened. You couldn't make a scene, not when half the school was occupying the lunchroom, but there was a spider on you! Thinking quickly, you came up with a solution and got to your feet, releasing Peter's hand.

"I've gotta go to the bathroom," you explained, then bolted out of the room. Once out in the hall and safe from the eyes of everyone in the school, you desperately searched for the spider and brushed yourself off anywhere you couldn't see. Your skin crawled as you wondered how long it had been on you before Ned said anything, and whether it had decided to lay its eggs all over you. You felt the incredible urge to go take a shower.

You returned to the lunchroom still jittery, checking your arms and legs for a spider you managed to miss. What you missed was the grin on Ned's face.

Next time was at your house for a sleepover with the boys. Actually it was a movie marathon but you all were going to fall asleep before you finished the last movie. Peter was already asleep and leaning against you, his head resting on your shoulder. He was adorable when he sleptーwell, he's always adorable but especially when he's asleep. You were distracted by Peter so Ned had to tap your shoulder to inform you of something of the utmost importance.

"There's a spider on you." You froze up instantly and the smile on your face disappeared.

"Get it off of me," you pleaded, breathless. Ned withheld a smile as his eyebrows creased in fake concern.

"I think he'll leave on his own."

"Please Ned," you begged, fearful eyes turning to him. Peter sat up groggily and rubbed his eyes, wondering why his cushion got so tense.

"What's up?" He mumbled.

"It's gone," Ned said. You let out a breath you weren't aware you were holding and put a hand to your heart. "It might come back though." You really didn't like that idea. You snuggled up to Peter as if that would protect you and he wrapped his arms around you, still confused what was happening. Ned thought about mentioning that now you were on the spider but that'd be too straightforward so he kept silent, watching the movie on the screen unlike the two lovebirds beside him.

The following days turned out much the same: Ned told you about the spider and you freaked out in varying degrees. After about 10 times you started to question if there even was a spider, and since Ned clearly wasn't lying (not that you could tell anyway) you wondered if this spider just loved hanging out with you. You asked Ned once if it was always the same spider and he nodded, saying exactly what you thought, "He likes you."

Peter realized the trend much earlier and talked to Ned in private. Ned told him his plan and Peter was forced to play along. He trusted you with his secret he just wished Ned would've informed him of this crazy plan before then. As for the whole 'you two'd get together' part he wasn't as hopeful as Ned. He had a feeling you didn't like the bindment of a relationship and preferred to keep it open; why else would it take so long to officially get together?

Peter waited time after time for you to realize what Ned was doing, but either you didn't notice or chose not to say anything. Peter was beginning to suspect you weren't going to get the hint while Ned said you had to be catching on.

The time came when it finally clicked when you noticed a red and blue suit in Peter's closet. He was out talking to his Aunt May which left you in his room with Ned. You were going to go check it out but Peter returned, so instead you asked about it.

"Oh yeah, about that..." He laughed awkwardly, looking to Ned for what to do. Ned gave him a double thumbs up. "I'm Spider-man."

"Wait wait wait, what?!" You shouted. Peter put a finger to his lips and you quieted down. "You're- you serious?"

"I'd show you but May," he glanced towards the door, "might come in." The whole spider thing Ned kept talking about suddenly made sense.

"You!" You whirled around to point at the chubby kid. "You meant Peter the whole time!"

"You finally figured it out!" Ned cheered. The sense of accomplishment made you shoot your fists in the air.

"What's with all the noise?" May poked her head in.

"They were talking about this show they were watching," Peter lied.

"And this one guy is a total butt!" You added. "I want him to die." May chuckled and nodded knowingly.

"Alright, well I'll leave you to it." She shut the door.

"Well." You spun to the boys with your hands on your hips. "When do I get a ride?" They exchanged a confused look. "I get to swing through the city with you right? I'm your girlfriend after all." Peter's eyes widened.

"We're dating?"

"I mean, if you want to."

"Yeah, yeah," he said quickly, a smile taking shape. Ned fist bumped himself. He knew it would work. "Do you wanna, uh, go now?"

"Sure!" Peter rushed to the closet to get changed as you faced Ned. "That was pretty smart."

"I know." Ned grinned.

"But don't say that again unless I actually have a spider on me. I've been embarrassed enough already."

His grin drooped. "Right." Peter emerged fully dressed and you gaped. This was awesome!

"You'll cover for us, right Ned?" Peter opened his window and took your hand.

Ned gave him a thumbs up. "Go get 'em Spidey!" Peter put a finger to where you guessed his lips would be and Ned nodded. "Right, sorry." Peter and you left out the window, and as you both sailed away, Ned could hear your excited shouts. While your cry's got quieter and quieter until they disappeared completely, he sat there twiddling his thumbs. What was he supposed to do while he waited?
