You walked out of the high school, talking animatedly to your boyfriend. He was listening with a soft smile, nodding along to show he was listening, when you were interrupted by a buzz. You held up a finger and pulled out your phone to see you got a text from your mom.

MOM: Hey honey! Can you pick up some groceries after school?

You typed back a response as you headed for your car.

YOU: Sure. What do we need?

"I'll talk to you later, Peter," you flashed him a smile as he paused in his trek for the train he always took home. "I need to go shopping, but maybe in an hour you can come over?"

"Sounds good," he held onto his backpack straps and nodded.

"See ya," you blew him a kiss and he pretended to catch it. You smiled and opened your car door, tossing your backpack into the backseat before sliding in. You got a text from your mom and turned on the car before checking it.

MOM: Only milk, creamer, and some eggs. Some cash is on the counter.

You drove out of the school parking lot and headed home. After arriving at your house, you tossed your backpack into your room and found the money on the counter your mom told you of. You pocketed it, made sure you still carried your phone, and headed for the store.

Stepping past the automatic doors, you headed for the refrigerated products at the back. You checked your phone again to see what you needed before taking out two gallons of milk and setting them on the ground. In an effort to make this fast, you had forgotten a cart.

Releasing a groan at the thought of having to carry everything back to the entrance of the store, you found the creamer your parents liked for their coffee. You walked away from the small pile of stuff on the floor to pick out some eggs, opening the carton to make sure none were cracked, and headed back.

You frowned, slipped your phone into your pocket, and kneeled beside the items. You managed to hold both milk cartons in one hand while your other cradled the eggs and held the creamer against your body. It was a struggle to get back to the checkout, but you managed, and when you got to the one open checkout you nearly dropped everything onto the conveyor belt.

The cashier was helping the person in front of you, so when you felt your phone buzz you took it out.

MOM: Dad's stuck in traffic, so he might be later than usual. I'm going to visit my mom and check on how she's doing. Just put your change on the counter.

YOU: Alright.

When you looked up, you saw a piece of paper advertising some Spider-man merch. The amount of things with the hero's image on it was steadily increasing. But what did you expect? Everyone loved your boyfriend.

However, this advertisment held a deal the store was having. If you spent more than $20 you could get a little water shooter that resembled Spider-man's web shooters. Your eyes widened. Sure, it was made for a 5 year old and probably wouldn't fit around your wrist, but you wanted it.

"I'm gonna be right back, I forgot something," you told the cashier just as she was about to start scanning your products. She nodded and you raced off to find something to bring your total above $20. The first thing you spotted was lipstick and you went with it, plucking one off the rack. It was a cherry red, not too bold but not too dull, and it cost enough to let you get the toy.

You slid to a stop in front of the cashier, who had already scanned everything else. You handed it over and watched the total hop over the $20 mark. Your eyes jumped to the advertisement and the lady followed your line of sight.
