"Look, we talked about this. Simply moving away isn't going to solve your problems," Peter explained for the umpteenth time. You understood that but coming up with every possible course of action was wearing you out.
Since that fiasco with your younger sister and the man who kidnapped her, you and Peter had gotten together to talk about plansーit didn't take long before he revealed his identity for ease of interaction; meeting up just as heroes and him hidden behind his mask had gotten tedious (and yes you were surprised to find out it was that quiet kid you sat next to on the bus). Back at the scene of the crime he had suggested faking your deaths so you could leave and nobody would seek you out, after all you'd be 'dead'. It had been a great idea, but planning a death to make it both realistic and easy enough to do had been rather difficult.
You sat on Peter's bed as he paced the room. You had said you'd scoot over so he could sit but he said he thought better on his feet. Your little sister was out in the other room talking with Aunt May, probably doing a craft or something. Her real job was to distract May so she didn't overhear your plans but keeping your sister occupied until you two had a plan was an upside. This was taking longer than you thought it would, though, and you figured sooner or later your sis would get bored or May would barge in and hear what she shouldn't.
You flopped onto your back and huffed. "This shouldn't be that difficult." Peter just kinda shrugged in response like 'What did you expect?' "How about brutally murdered in my house one late evening?"
He put his hand to his chin in thought. "We'd need a murder scene: plenty of blood, maybe some hair, and of course limbs and internal organs." You winced. "The blood we could just collect over a period of time, the hair is easy, but the limbs and organs...."
"I'm not chopping off my hand for this."
"You wouldn't need to," he started, then stopped as he thought some more. "We'd just need some fake limbs with your tissue DNA. But where could we get those? Or the organs?"
"So that's a no." You sighed and covered your face with your hands. "Any day now me or my sister's gonna get attacked and we're sitting on your bums trying to think of a way to kill us." Peter frowned.
"I'd offer to let you stay here but I don't know if May's....ok with it. I mean, you are a girl and-" You looked at him and he shut up. But you just shook your head.
"You're right, it's fine. I would feel safer at your house though." You shivered at the thought of how easily someone had broken into the house and stole your sister. Peter looked away with a quiet sigh. He could hardly bare the thought of someone kidnapping Aunt May, he could hardly imagine what you went through. And the lack of confidence in your voiceーor rather the confidence that you were going to get attackedーconvinced him to talk to May.
"I'll talk to her, and if she asks, the story is your basement flooded." He headed towards the door as you stood.
"Wait, but we don't have a basement!"
"Just go with it." He headed off to talk to May and you promptly followed. Your sister was sat in front of the TV as a show she liked to watch played. Her wide eyes were glued to the screen, and if you were to stare at them you could see the screen reflected there. May was doing something in another room and Peter followed the source of the noise to where she was, but you sat down next to your sister.
"Our basement flooded so Peter's asking his aunt if we can stay here," you told her. She turned from the TV with excitement shimmering in her eyes.
"We're gonna have a sleepover?"
"Hopefully." A half-smile appeared on your face.
Peter and May entered and all attention was instantly on them. May spoke first. "I hear your basement's flooded?"
