At the end of this oneshot you will have a choice to make on how you want the story to end. I'm not gonna spoil anything, you'll understand when you get to that point.

It had been years since the incident that one fateful night. You still weren't sure what to think of it. So you mostly didn't, instead deciding to occupy your mind with the child you had given birth to, a now 5 year old. He was just like his father in many regards, almost too many.

Heaving a sigh, you slouched further in your seat on the bench you rested on. Your son was playing on the playground, laughing with a bunch of other kids his age. They were playing tag, and currently a girl with pigtails was chasing another girl around. Your son was on top of the equipment, in a place the creators of the structure didn't intend people to go.

"Tony, be careful!" You shouted, worry prominent in your (E/C) eyes. Tony looked down at you with an expression he'd given you every time you got worried.

"I'll be fine, Mom," he sighed, like your worrying was a burden. But there was a reason for it, he just didn't know it. You didn't tell him, not because you wanted to keep what his father did every night from him, but just because you thought it better he be older when he found out. At this age he couldn't fully grasp why you were the way you were.

You sat back downーnot remembering when you stood upーand put your hands in your lap. You couldn't help it. Just, the fear and panic you felt when you found out Peter might die....and then... You shook your head. That was 5 years ago. You couldn't change the past.

"Hey, mind if I sit here?" A masculine voice asked, making you turn. Your eyes nearly lit up but your almost smile turned into a blank expression when you saw it wasn't him. You didn't realize you were staring until he awkwardly glanced to the side.

"Go ahead," you scooted over. He sat down as you exhaled loudly. "I'm sorry, you just look like-" You stopped yourself.

"Who do I look like?" He asked, tilting his head to show his curiosity.

"Ah, it doesn't matter," you shook your head, looking down. He leaned a little closer, his eyes rolling up to look at the sky as he exaggerated a thinking face.

"Is he a celebrity?"

"No- well..." Does Spider-man count as one? "No."

"A friend of yours?"

"Yeah, you could say that."

"Sibling? Family member?"

"I joined his family and he joined mine."

"Husband." You weren't sure if he asked or stated.

"Yeah." Your demeanor must've changed because he patted your back.

"I'm sorry for asking."

"It's alright," you shrugged, sitting back against the bench and watching Tony play. He was the tagger now, and he was currently sliding down a slide to reach two boys that were taunting him.

"Did he leave you, or...?" He trailed off, hoping you'd fill him in on the story.

"No, he didn't- no. He's........." You looked up at him. "(Right behind you/Dead)."
