Happy Valentine's Day everybody! 💚

Peter gripped his backpack straps in his hands tightly as he stared at the girl about 10 lockers away. She was getting something from her locker for the next class, concentrating on sliding it into her stack of things without dropping anything. Peter shifted his weight from foot to foot, forcing himself to breathe evenly in hopes that it would calm him downーit didn't. He might as well just do it, get it over with, I mean what's the worst that could happen?

Peter groaned as hundreds of ideas swarmed his mind. Of course he just had to ask. Shaking his head as if to get rid of the horrible outcomes, he stood up straighter, inhaled deeply to steel himself, and started towards her.

You finally got the last thing out of your locker and slammed it shut, about to turn and head to your class when you were blocked by another person. "Oh, hey Peter," you greeted him. His face was a little pink and he seemed uneasy, like he was about to tell you that the bouquet of roses you found taped to your locker were from him.

"(Y/N), I was just wondering if...if you..." He exhaled and ran a hand through his hair, face darkening in shade. "Man, this is harder than I thought." You waited patiently, ignoring the looks of some passersby. "Do you wanna...be my Valenteen?" He made a face. "V-Valentine, I mean." You didn't doubt he was internally beating himself up for screwing up the simple question but you couldn't help the small snicker from escaping your lips.

"I'd love to." His head shot up in surprise, mouth agape as he stared at you like you were royalty.

"Wait, you're serious? I can't believe it!" You'd never seen such joy in his eyes. He laughed and lost the tension in his shoulders. "I thought you'd reject me."

"Nah, you're too cute for that." You winked at him and started for your class so you wouldn't be late. Peter felt like he was floating as he followed after you. "So what are we doing after school?" He stopped for a half second. He hadn't thought he'd get this far, he had no plan.

"Uh, how about..." He couldn't come up with anything. "What do you want to do?" There, he bought himself some time to come up with something that wouldn't disappoint you.

"Hmm," you murmured, putting a hand to your chin as you thought. "I haven't been on the ice in a while, so it might be fun to go ice skating. But we don't have to."

"Ice skating sounds fun," Peter said, nodding. "I've never actually done it before, though."

"Oh, you'll love it!" You grinned widely at the very thought of being out on the ice and teaching him the wonders of the sport. "I'll do my best to teach you, if you want."

"Sounds great."

You two started in different directions before you paused and called out to him "Do you have ice skates?"

"Um, no." He pulled a face, just now remembering that was an important part of ice skating.

"It's ok, I have some I think'll fit you."

City Ice Pavilion was a place you thought was decent. It was an indoor ice rink that shouldn't be too crowded, meaning you could teach Peter how to skate without worrying about getting in others' way.

When you first put the skates on Peter's feet, you could tell he was regretting his decision. You assured him he'd do fine as you got your own on, insisting he'd pick up on the skill quickly. He was still unsure when you got up and held out a hand to help him to his feet.

Once on his feet he realized how he had less stability than normal, making him cling to you in a panic and nearly cause both of you to fall over. You promptly told him to hold on to the side of the rink or your hand if he needed stability so he didn't cause an accident.
