For the record: not my best writing.
Usually when you tell people you're a YouTuber they either assume nobody knows who you are with 50 subs tops or everyone knows who you are and you have millions of subscribers. For you it was a happy medium, with around 15 thousand subs and counting. You reviewed comic books, their movies and TV shows, and mostly everything else you could think of relating to comics.
Today you were doing a video on Spider-man. "I've only read the comics but I hear they're based off the real spider in the Big Apple." You leaned towards the camera. "Just between you and me, I'm heading there for vacation because of him. Wouldn't that be awesome? I'd get to meet the real guy!" You went on for a little while just imagining what it would be like before realizing the audience probably didn't care. "Sorry, I'll stop boring you. But! If I do meet him, I'll see if I can get a video with him to show you all."
Looking at the time, you decided to wrap it up. "My next video will probably be in New York since I'm packing up after this. Talk to you later, nerds." You winked and waved at the camera then leaned forward to turn it off.
You sighed and ran a hand through your hair. My plane leaves in 5 hours. I should have enough time to edit the view, post it, and get packed right? It should if I don't hit traffic and security is fast. Nodding to yourself, you got up to grab your things and shove it in a suitcase.
Peter hugged the pillow in front of him, eyes wide as he watched (Y/N)'s video. She's coming here to see me? He squeezed the pillow tighter in his arms at the exciting thought. What should I say? What will she think of me? When will she get here? His smile fell as he thought of more troubling thoughts. What if I stink? What if she's disappointed? What if I don't get to meet her?! He brushed off his concerns, telling himself he'd worry about that bridge when he tried to cross it.
Peter always liked (Y/N). She was so passionate, and lively, and she had a great sense of humor! She was also pretty, which was a plus. He smiled into the pillow. He had the chance to meet her, he wasn't about to screw this up.
He nearly screwed it up. As soon as he was out of school the next day he started his rounds as Spider-man. He did the usual helping people things, keeping his eyes peeled for a certain (H/C) haired girl. But he didn't see her, and after a couple hours he chalked it up to her not arriving until tomorrow.
When he was swinging home he spotted a girl with (H/C) exiting a comic book store. He nearly missed her (and about crashed into the building he was swinging towards). He clung to a wall as his eyes went wide. It was her! Ok Peter, be cool. You've got this. He cleared his throat, puffed out his chest, then swung down to talk to her.
You stopped walking when you heard a thud behind you. Spider-man stumbled away from a light post, rubbing his head. You dropped the comic book you were studying.
"You're...." You wanted to say a million things but your mouth couldn't form the words.
"You're gonna catch flies like that." He chuckled, albeit somewhat nervously. You closed your mouth, bouncing on your toes.
"But you're...! This is...so cool! I didn't think- I mean, I never assumed...you'd...You're so awesome!" You laughed, running a hand through your hair. "You're so much cooler in person. Not that you weren't cool in videos!" you quickly added. "Because, I mean, you're cool no matter what I'm just saying that I think you're better up close- no, not up close, but like in real life? Not that videos don't depict real life, but like in real person- face to face, I mean." You looked down. "Gosh that was embarrassing."
