Y'all already know this song and dance: bad boy Peter. Buckle up! <3

"And you've got- oh perfect. Look at you!" You let out a laugh as you took a picture of your fellow classmate's homework. All you had to do was copy the answers down onto your sheet tonight and turn it in tomorrow. The girl took the homework back, slipping it into a folder as she looked up at you expectantly.

"So, he'll be leaving at 3:30 you said?" Tif was already nervous, and you nudged her shoulder with your own to try to pull her from her anxious thoughts.

"Yep, right on schedule. I've already told him all about you, and trust me, he sounds interested." You winked with a small grin as you slid your phone back into your pocket. "Just a warning: if he ends up asking you out on a date, he's big on equality, so he'll probably have you pay for your own meal." She nodded.

"Yeah, that's fine. And, um, there's nothing else I need to do?" She played with the ends of her long, wavy blonde hair. Poor girl was so shaky it made you feel bad, but she paid you in doing your homework so you weren't going to back out because she looked close to fleeing.

"I can't promise you'll have another chance. You sure you're up for this?" You tilted your head as she ducked her gaze. Her hair fiddling got worse.

"Yeah, I just, every girl in our grade wants to date him, so what makes you think he'll choose me?" It was an honest question, and one you'd received many times. As Peter's best friend—and only friend—you'd been asked all sorts of questions relating to what kind of girl Peter was interested in. You gave out vague answers so it could apply to any girl, though you supposed that only hurt you in the long run due to how many girls requested you set them up with Peter. You told them you'd do it if they shared their homework answers, and at such a simple request, many girls took you up on it.

"Because you're cute, popular yourself, and—let's be honest—a total sweetheart." The answer was practiced, only minor adjustments ever needed to apply to the latest girl. And as always, it calmed her nerves enough for her to offer a smile. "I made sure to mention you pipe up all the time in class so he knows you're smart, too." You added a reassuring wink and she laughed lightly—gosh, even her laugh sounded nervous. "You got this Tif. I'm rooting for you." You held up a fist—which she bumped—then turned to walk off.

Peter, who was waiting around the corner, spotted you and matched your stride as you walked through the school hallways. "That her?" he asked vaguely in case anyone was listening.

"Yup. Told her you'd be walking out the school doors at 3:30 pm so you better be on time." You sounded like a secretary talking to their bigwig boss, and he chuckled at your professional attitude. "She really is a sweetheart, so don't break her heart, okay?" You glanced at him and he shrugged.

"Somehow I doubt she'll be the one." The two of you had been running this operation for long enough to know the motions by heart, and everytime you set him up with a new girl, she was never 'the one'. At this point you doubted that girl existed. This wasn't some kind of soulmate AU story, so by technicality, 'the one' was whoever he made it to be.

"Isn't it exhausting having all these girls try to win your heart?" you asked as the two of you crashed in the band room. He hadn't been in band for years but the band teacher was chill and the two of you routinely hung out here after school. You got comfy on the piano bench as he sat at the drum set.

"Actually, you make my job easier." He flashed his signature charming grin as he swept his hair back, then tossed a drumstick into the air and caught it. "You weed out the girls that are down bad for me, and I get to see if they're worth a second date."
