AN: Ok so I know this chapter might end up being short, pretty sure it will actually, but I don't care. I need the situation in this episode to write some moves I imagine Irene doing that, in my opinion, looks cool so... don't comment about how short the chapter is. Anyway, she's wearing her cap and the sneakers are purple. Now let's start the chapter!

Narrator pov. On the flight~

The Detective boys were on a flight heading to Kumamoto since Genta won an all-expense-paid trip to compete in a tennis tournament. 

Accompanying them were Mouri and her father, who was closing his eyes and sweating thanks to his fear of heights, as well as Suzuki whose family was covering the expenses for the trip. Irene was sitting next to Kogoro, asleep since she was tired.

Edogawa looked at Haibara who was sitting beside him and she noticed so she glanced back at him and asked, "What's wrong?" which made him wave his hands in front of him and answer, "Ah, no... It's nothing." she replied, "Good."

He explained, "It's just that you usually aren't interested in these kinds of trips and stay behind. I wonder what could have provoked you to come this time?" 

She looked down at the book she was reading and said, "Nothing. I still don't care much for this. Hakase was being so noisy with some new gadget, I couldn't focus on my reading." 

She closed the book and added, "Besides," she looked towards Irene's sleeping figure with a smile "After what Karashima-san did to make herself this tired, I thought this is the least I could do to return the favor." which made him also look at the shrunken brunette with a small smile.

You're probably wondering what was it that Irene did that made Haibara feel this way? Well, it happened a few days before their flight.

Flashback time~

They were walking back from the park when they passed by a gardening shop and Irene glanced at it in consideration like she started doing a lot recently. Edogawa did try asking her what intrigued her about it but she just kept answering "You'll see." so he stopped asking and so did Haibara who was just as curious.

That afternoon, when the duo arrived back at the agency, they ate lunch before Irene told Mouri that she was going out somewhere and that she'll come back before dinner which Mouri was ok with and so Irene left while saying "Ittekimasu!" with a small smile.

Edogawa knew she was going to the shop but he knew that Irene was going to tell him eventually so he decided against following her. Later that day, just before dinner, Irene kept her promise and returned though she looked dirty but not hurt which made him curious, yet he still stopped himself from asking.
