Narrator pov. In Lawyer Misari's attic~

Hattori and Toyama were handcuffed to each other and Hattori was using a hairpin to try and unlock the handcuffs while their kidnappers weren't around. He quietly asked, "I-Is it here, Kazuha?" Toyama just as quietly answered, "Not there, Heiji. More ta the left."

Hattori replied, "Ta the left? Y-ya mean around there?" Toyama exclaimed, "Itta! Where are ya pokin', Heiji?! I said ta the left!" forgetting about the situation at that moment which made Hattori quietly reply "Aho! Don't talk so loudly, or they'll hear us!" which made her realize it and stay quiet.

Hattori looked over at the door to the attic to check if anyone was coming but saw no one so he tried to use the hairpin again now that he knows where he should insert it but his hand slipped and the pin fell out of his hold.

He quietly said, "No good, the pin fell between the floorin'." Toyama quietly replied, "What are ya doin'? We can't unlock the cuffs without it." Hattori quietly asked, "Don't ya have another type of wire?" Toyama answered, "That was the only one." to which Hattori said, "Kuso."

Toyama looked down at a certain paper and asked, "Na, more importantly, won't it be better ta just solve the code? If ya do that, they said they'd release us from here, right?" another voice spoke up "Exactly." from the attic door which made them look over.

One of the male kidnappers walked up the attic stairs and when he was face to face with them, he added, "If you wanna be outside enjoying the warm sun, it's better for you to solve it quickly." the other fatter man was carrying a certain detective's unconscious body on his shoulder.

The first man continued, "If you don't..." the fat man placed the detective down on his back which made the Osakans get a look at his face and recognize him and Hattori exclaimed, "Kusukawa-san!" the man finished, "You'll end up as cold as this guy." before both the men laughed.

Toyama whispered, "H-Heiji..."  Hattori whispered back, "Don't worry, these guys dunno that that guy is there." Toyama was confused, "That guy?" Hattori thought 'Right... that guy. That guy will definitely get here!' thinking of Kudo.

Meanwhile, in the agency, Edogawa yawned loudly before he said, "They sure are late, Heiji-niichan and Kazuha-neechan." Mouri replied, "Un..." she looked down at her watch "They promised to be here at 1:00 but it's already past 2:00. Did something happen?"
