(Another old one; I skipped the one I made before this one cause it was TRASH! Try to re-write it at some. This one is back to the book I had been writing four years ago when I first started these one-shots; if I remember correctly, this one is also odd! I originally gave titles for all of them, and this one was called Plant Lovers, so it can't be anything normal! I have actually had motivation enough to tweak this one as the original one makes no fuckin sense, and I love yall too much to plunge you guys into the world that was my head; I could hardly understand it anymore, and I wrote it.... though to be fair I didn't even remember writing some of the chapters I did post which were written a lot more recent than these so my head isn't reliable now either!! I'm gonna stop rambling now!)

(Y/n's P.O.V)

I love teaching! Though I am only an assistant teacher, I love it either way! I get to spend my days helping Professor Sprout with Herbology. I have always liked Herbology since the day I started at Hogwarts all those years ago, so when I returned as an assistant teacher, I was glad to be placed in Herbology. Pamona and I got along right away. We admitted our feelings to each other late last year and started dating.

"You heard Professor Sprout! Earmuffs on everyone!" I called over the chatter of students. "I don't care that you got a pink pair, Mr Malfoy; you should have arrived earlier!" I snapped at the young Malfoy before turning to Pamona. "I'll be right back!"

I had anxiety, which was why I couldn't teach alone. My anxiety caused my magic to play up. I know it is going to sound pathetic, but my anxiety causes me to turn into a Bowtruckle. The average height of a Bowtruckle was between six and eight inches; I was on the smaller side, just six inches.

Most witches and wizards wouldn't have this effect from anxiety, but I had some wicked neighbours as a baby. They had cursed me, and no one knew how to reverse the curse—not even the boys who cast it. The boys invented the spell, not actually knowing what it would do.As I ran as fast as I could to the Forbidden Forest, I could feel myself shrink. My strides became smaller and smaller as my legs became shorter. I kept running, trying not to be trampled by students as they walked around the grounds.

I reached the Forbidden Forest and kept running. I needed to reach the pond in the clearing, and the water always calmed me down! I jumped over what in my normal size would stick, but to me, like this, they were frickin logs!

I could hear other members of the staff, including Albus, Pamona, Minerva, and Poppy, calling my name as I kept running. I could risk stopping, or they might step on me. I ran to the pond, which was more of an effort for me than the others. The other teachers were already there by the time I got there. I quickly climbed a nearby tree and sat on the lowest branch, which was out of their reach.

I started kicking an acorn on the branch, and it fell, grabbing the attention of the teachers, who looked up at me.

"Y/n, come down! We can't help you when you're up there!" Pamona called to me, and I climbed down into her open hand.

I climbed down to her pocket and grabbed the parchment and quill. I dropped it to the floor, and she helped me down. I lifted the quill and struggled to write:

'Sorry Bowtruckle instinct. Didn't want to get traded on!'

"That's okay! let's get you to the hospital wing!" Dumbledore spoke as Pamona picked me up again.

"I have a fresh batch of calming drought in the cupboard!" Poppy told me as Pamona put me on her shoulder.

As we reached the Hospital Wing, Pamona helped me off her shoulder and onto a bed. Poppy ducked into her office and came back with a vial of sky-blue liquid. I sipped at it while Pamona held it up for me to reach it. Once I had drunk the whole bottle, which took roughly half an hour, I curled up on the bed and went to sleep.

--------

When I woke several hours later, I was happy to find I was back to my normal height! I looked over at Pamona asleep in the chair next to me. I looked at my watch, which read 11:30 p.m. She should be sleeping in a bed, not a chair! I sat up carefully and tucked a lost hair behind Pomona's ear. She slowly began to stir.

"Hey, love! Sorry to wake you!" I said quietly.

"Y/n! You awake!" She smiled, getting up and hugging me.

"I'm fine!" I assure her. "You shouldn't be sleeping on the chair! It is bad for your back!"

"I'm fine! I just wanted to be here when you woke up!" She told me to move to sit next to me.

"What happened?"

"I was just feeling overwhelmed by all the noise, is all!" I told her as she wrapped her hands around mine.

"Okay, well, I'll go get Poppy!" she said, getting up and walking into Poppy's office, returning moments with the witch.

"Glade, you're awake, Y/n!" She said as she checked me over before allowing me to leave.

Pamona and I returned to our rooms and got ourselves something to eat. We hadn't eaten anything since breakfast, as when I was in Bowtruckle form, I could only eat woodlice, and they were just plain gross! So I avoided eating, and Pamona wouldn't eat before me when I couldn't eat it either! She was truly the sweetest and most amazing girlfriend ever!
