Y/n LupinXJames Potter Part 8

(3rd Person P.O.V)

Meanwhile, back at the hospital wing, Y/n was alone with her thoughts as she watched her parents talking to Dumbledore and McGonagall, crying about what happened to her but not crying with her.

When Y/n needed the people she cared about the most, she felt the most alone, but that's how it is for everyone. When you need the people you love most, they are never there.

Mr. and Mrs. Lupin rose from their seats in the office and went out to sit beside their daughter again.

"We were thinking it would be best if you returned home while you recover," Her father told her, much to her horror.

"No, I don't want to go I want to stay here!" Y/n argued.

"I'm sorry Y/n, our minds are made up you are coming home." Her Mother told her.

Y/n got up and ran out of the room Moony still in her hand.

Over in the Headmaster's office things weren't going as well, Peter knew he wouldn't get out of this unscathed, so he started making us much noise as possible to wake the Professor still sitting nearby.

James had just landed his first blow when the Professor jumped awake, the two boys fleeing as fast as they could.

On their way-out James collided with Y/n.

"Y/n! I'm so sorry are you okay?" James asked helping her up.

"Fine." She mumbled under breath wiping away her tears.

"Y/n what are you doing here you should be in the Hospital Wing?" Remus asked pushing his friend out of the way.

Y/n shook her head.

"I'm not going home! I want to be here!" She begged.

"If you don't want to leave, you don't have to!" James promised.

"They want to take me home, I'm afraid I don't have a choice. When Mum and Dad leave, I'm going with them." She reached forward not thinking as she pulled James into a hug.

"But I don't want you to leave!" James pouted hugging her back.

----Time Skip----

It was time for the Lupin's to head back home but Y/n Lupin hadn't yet returned after she ran off hours earlier.

Mr. and Mrs. Lupin followed Professor McGonagall to the Gryffindor common room figuring Y/n would have returned to her room. 

As they entered the common room they found Remus, Sirius, James and Y/n sat on a couch by the fire. They all turned to the portrait as it swung open.

"I'm not leaving!" Y/n immediately said jumping up from her seat next to James and Remus.

"Yeah, she's staying here with us." James jumped up standing between Y/n and her parents.

"What they mean Mum and Dad is that Y/n doesn't want to leave. She's happy here, despite everything that's happened here she has made friends here and she's happy here. She doesn't want what happened to shape her life, she wants to keep studying, here with us." Remus explained to his parents walking over to them.

"We will keep her safe, I won't let Y/n out of my sight again." James reassured them.

"Y/n needs time to heal mentally and she can't do that here, she will come home and when she feels better, she will be going to Illvamorny." Mrs. Lupin told them.

"I don't want to go to Illvamorny! I want to be here. I can't heal by running away! If I run away now this will always hang over me." Y/n argued.

"Can't we just consider this, she is clearly happy here!" Mr. Lupin turned to his wife.

"We have been over this, she needs to come home!" Mrs. Lupin argued.

"If I might step in, we have plenty of resources that we can use to support Y/n, and I'm sure her friends will be there for her. I'll personally check in with her daily. Y/n is a bright student with a bright future, I'm worried taking her out of school might put her too far behind." Professor McGonagall stepped in.

"... Fine." Mrs. Lupin thought about it for a moment before sighing and agreeing.

A couple weeks went by since everything went down, Peter had been picked up from the school by his parents mere hours later, they weren't too pleased with him or with the fact that he had been beaten, for which Remus, James and Sirius got a month of detention.
