I'll start by telling you the story of Y/n and how she met Harry, and then I'll let Harry tell you what happened next, what almost destroyed their relationship.

Y/n and Harry met on the first day of classes their first year. They had originally brushed past each other the day before on the train, Y/n had been trying to find a compartment when Harry had knocked on a compartment door in which a ginger haired boy had been sitting alone. After brushing past Harry, she apologized making her way further into the train till she came across a compartment with a brown-haired boy who seemed to be nervous looking for something, and frizzy haired girl who was packing away a book getting ready to help the boy.

Y/n had helped look for the Toad the boy we know as Neville lost. Her path didn't cross Harry's again that day, she watched Harry get sorted into Gryffindor. When Y/n's name was called Harry's eyes were darting across the room taking everything in, as the hat was placed on her head it called out for her to join Gryffindor. Harry's eyes landed on her as she stood to make her way over to the Gryffindor table, she sat a mere four seats away from Harry. It was close enough that he was able to watch her from where he sat but not close enough for them to talk.

It wasn't till the next day sat in Professor McGonagall's Transfigurations class that Harry and Y/n's paths crossed once again. When Ron and Harry arrived late having been lost on their way only two seats were open. One next to the girl Y/n had sat with on the train, Hermione and one next to Y/n.

The ginger haired boy, Ron sat next to Hermione and Harry sat next to Y/n. That class was the first time they met. Y/n would study with Hermione in the common room. Harry and Ron would often sit with them, talking spending time but Harry and Y/n were both distracted often stealing glances at each other.

 Over the next couple years they spent more and more time together. In their third year after it had been announced that Sirius Black had been spotted in Dufftown not too far away, Y/n had started to fear for Harry' life which just made her feelings for him more apparent, Hermione had noticed it to.

The day that Sirius decided to make his attack on Pettigrew came. Y/n had been with them and had gone down the tree alongside Harry and Hermione in their attempt to save Ron.

While Hermione and Y/n had gone straight to Ron to make sure he was okay Harry stood trying to find the attacker. When Sirius revealed himself Y/n was the first to jump up and get between Harry and Sirius.

Y/n wouldn't back down staying with Harry even after Sirius proved himself innocent. Y/n wouldn't let Pettigrew near Harry.

They feared for both their lives Harry tried to pull Y/n behind him on multiple occasions, but she wasn't backing down.

Once they had thought they were safe stood on the hill looking up at Hogwarts, Harry walked away from his godfather making his way to Y/n. It was there that Harry asked Y/n to be his girlfriend. Before she could respond Professor Lupin let out a howl.

You know what took place from there, it wasn't until they were looking from a distance at the scene that just played out, as Y/n watched Harry ask her out that Y/n turned to Harry and said yes.

(Harry's P.O.V)

Y/n and I started dating at the end of our third year, we are now in our fifth. Over the last two years we had been through a lot. I had to compete in the Triwizard Tournament last year, I almost died, it gave Y/n nightmares for months, but she did everything she could to be by myside and help me through it all.

Umbridge has taken over and with the help of my friends we started Dumbledore's Army also known as the D.A. We are just finishing up our last session before Christmas, Y/n hadn't shown up. I had seen her just before and we had plans to meet up beforehand so we could be together, but she never showed up.

I watched while everyone left waiting to see if Y/n would show. As I waited, I saw Cho staring at the photo of Cedric on the mirror. I knew how much pain she must be in, I just wanted to apologies for her lose.

I made my way over after brush Fred and George away. I walked over and started talking to Cho as the last people left the room of requirements. I told her about what happened to Cedric. She began to cry as she asked if Cedric had known all of this.

She looked up making me look up to. There was a mistletoe forming above us. I looked down ready to tell her that I had a girlfriend when her lips pressed against mine, I stepped back in shock, but she just stepped closer. I went to push her away when I heard the doors swing open.

Cho pulled away as we both turned to find Y/n...

"Y/n wait!" I called as she turned and ran away.

I chased after her calling her name. I could hear her sobbing as she ran. I continued to call for her as I ran.

"Y/n Please! It's not what it looked like!" I yelled, as a final attempt to make her stop.

"So you weren't kissing Cho?" She screamed turning around, I saw tears running down her face, blood running down her arms.

"Babe.." I couldn't make out any other words as I watched her blood trickle from her arm and hit the floor.

"Is that all you can say? You can't even deny it?" She sobbed.

"She kissed me. I tried to push away! I was waiting for you! Please we have to get you to the hospital wing!" I begged moving closer to her but she just backed away.

"You expect me to believe you when I just saw you kissing her!" She screamed but her screams died down as she clung to her forearm.

I could see the pain in her eyes as she swayed taking a couple steps back to steady herself. I ran to her side as she collapsed. Without even thinking I lifted her up bridal style sprinting as fast as I could to the hospital wing.

"MADAM POMFREY, SHE'S LOST A LOT OF BLOOD PLEASE HELP HER!" I screamed tears running down my cheek.

Madam Pomfrey ran over as she hurried to Y/n's side, checking her pulse, looking at the wounds on her arms, deep wounds. I sat by her side holding her hand as Madam Pomfrey healed her wounds.

"When she wakes give her this potion, she will need to take it every two hours. It's a blood replenishing potion." Madam Pomfrey walked away.

I sat there for hours my head resting upon her arm. She took a sudden breathe in making me sit up straight as she opened her eyes.

"Oh Y/n! Your okay! You need to drink this it will help you feel better." I told her as she tried to get up.

She was weak... all the blood she lost had made her weak and it made me mad.

"What happened?" She asked after drinking the potion.

"I'm not sure, you came to find me... you saw Cho.. I promise I didn't kiss her she kissed me." I explained.

"That's right... how do I know your not lying?" She asked pulling her arm away.

"Because I would never do that to you! I love you Y/n, you are my everything!" I told her.

"I don't know if I can believe you right now." She told me.

"Just tell me one thing, how did you get all the cuts on your arm?" I ask my gaze flicking down at her arm.

"I... I had detention." She looked at her lap, I understood what she was saying.
