Ellie Trenadi, Crowned Princess of Keythrose, was on the verge of being crowned Queen in a few months. However, she knew she had to undertake a series of tasks to convince the people she would be ruling over and prove her worth to herself.
As she packed her bags and bid her friends goodbye, she left Keythrose, Hellfire, and Alma Tendury under the rule of Princess Nora and their cousins David and Jesse.
She was dressed in her favorite Lilac Gown. Being royal meant I always had to look my best, but it was not always the easiest thing to do.
My short brown hair was down, hanging at my shoulders. I wore a set of diamond earrings that perfectly matched my silver tiara.
My friends met me outside my room, and we all went to the throne room. After bidding them farewell, I stepped through a magical mirror, a portal to another world. On the other side, I found myself in a grand office. Two men stood before me, one with long white hair and a beard in a purple robe, the other with shoulder-length black hair and a black robe.
The older gentleman's face lit up with a radiant smile, his eyes twinkling with warmth and kindness. In contrast, the other man bore a deep scar on his face, a mark that seemed to reflect the shadows lurking within.
"Welcome, Princess Ellie! Hogwarts welcomes you! I am Headmaster Dumbledore, and this is Severus Snape, the Potions Master here at Hogwarts." The older gent, Headmaster Dumbledore, introduced.
"Good Morning, Headmaster, Professor! Thank you for having me!" I curtsied.
"We need her to blend in. This isn't blending in!" Professor Snape turned to the Headmaster, ignoring me entirely.
"Now that I am back on Earth, away from my kingdom, I may wear something less royal!" I said, a hint of relief in my voice, as I removed my tiara and placed it in the box in my suitcase. It symbolised my royal status and reminded me of the responsibilities and expectations that came with it.
"Great. Professor Snape will take you to the bathroom and your room so you can change; the students don't arrive until tomorrow." Headmaster Dumbledore gestured for us to head out.
Professor Snape moved swiftly towards the door; he almost floated down the stairs. I had hardly stepped onto the stairs when he stepped off them. I slowly followed behind him. I met him at the bottom, and he scowled.
"If you want to fit in here, you must speed up; that dress is slowing you down." He growled before turning and briskly walking away.
I tried to pick up my pace as I followed after him. He was right. This gown slowed me down.
We made it to my room. He stood outside waiting for me to change. I changed into a white crop top, black jeans with a brown belt, and a Hogwarts jumper.
I had a separate room from others because while I would do my best to blend in, it was hard to hide two giant gowns and two tiaras. I can't just put the gowns in the closet.
I made my way out and followed Professor Snape down the Dining Hall, or as it's called, the Great Hall. There was only one long table, so I sat next to Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall.
I chatted with them about classes and how they run their lessons. Professor McGonagall was a big help, but Professor Snape was not so much.
---Fast Forward Several Months---
"Professor Snape?" I asked, walking in with my notes in hand.
"Yes, Miss Trenadi?" He asked, still marking his papers.
----------------
Over the next several weeks, I spent more time in Professor Snape's office while he helped me with my study, and in turn, I helped him grade.
He started to open up to me about what it's like teaching students.
As months went on, we got closer and closer. He even started calling me Ellie, and I got away with calling him Severus when we were alone.
