(Y/n's P.O.V)

I was staying at school for the Christmas holidays; it was the safest place. Earlier today, I received a howler from my parents. They didn't want me to stay at school; they wanted me to come home for some reason. They said they would come to get me themselves, but they said that every year, so I didn't think they would show up.

I had been sitting outside enjoying the sun, reading my favourite book, when everything went oddly quiet. I looked up to see everyone backing away from... my parents. I got up and ran as fast as I could to the bathroom.

I hoped they hadn't seen me, but I didn't want to risk it as I kept running. I turned to look behind me not paying attention to where I was going. I ran right into someone, the person quickly put their arm out catching me before I fell

"Sorry", I said, wiggling out of their grip and moving to run past them, but they grabbed my wrist, stopping me from running.

"Fred, let go. I have to go; I'm in a hurry." I said meeting his eyes.

I tried to pull away, but he had a firm grip on my arm, it wasn't a tight grip but not lose enough for me to wiggle out of.

"Y/n, what's wrong?" He asked.

"My parents are here." Fred seemed to understand even though I had never told him about my parents.

Still holding my arm, he started running. As we ran, he dragged me through different hallways and into a room I had never seen before. I could have sworn there had never been a door there any time I walked by.

"Why are you hiding from your parents?" He asked, shutting the door.

"I'll explain once they leave," I say, trying to get past him.

"They can't get in here. It's the Room of Requirement. If we need a room hidden from everyone, we got it." He said, pulling me to a couch that sat in the middle of the room.

"Fine, they want me to go home. But I don't want to..." I say.

"Why don't you want to go home?" Fred asked.

"My parents.... my parents are abusive..." I hesitated to tell him.

"Show me." He demanded.

I lifted the sleeves of my robes to reveal the cuts and bruises from the last time I saw my parents. He grabbed my arm carefully so as not to hurt me; he examined the wounds, then got up and stormed out, looking pissed.

"Don't leave this room till I get back." He demanded before shutting the door.

I trusted Fred, if he said I was safe in here I knew I was. I didn't know how long I would be here so I thought I would get confutable. There was a bookshelf next to the couch, I reached grabbed my favorite book from the shelf, turned to the page I was on, and continued reading.

I was so on edge that I couldn't relax. I managed to spend twenty minutes reading one page because I kept re-reading the same sentence. I put the book back and got up starting to pace. Half an hour went by, and I was still pacing. The door opened. I jumped and hid behind the couch.

"It's safe to come out they're gone, and they won't be coming back ever again," Fred said, entering the room.

I came out from behind the couch, my hair covering my face. He walked over to me and gently pushed the hair out of my face.

"What did you do?" I asked him as he led me out.

"I explained what they were doing was wrong and told them you can stay at the Burrow. We had a lovely chat, and they left promising never to come back." I laughed a little at that.

"What did you do?" I questioned again.

"Well by the time I found them they were heading towards the common room. I tried to reason with them, but they wouldn't listen to reason, however because your Mum works at the Ministry she recognized me. Remember when they used to have bring your kid to work days? Throughout the years she met all of us and she had heard from Dad how much of troublemakers we can be.

So I threatened her with a vile I had in my pocket. I told her it would give her warts that wouldn't go away until she found love, which shut her up pretty quickly. Your Dad turned on your mother very quickly, which made your dad mad which meant he caused a scene, and they were both kicked out. They won't be allowed back ever again. Best part the potion is just liquid luck!" He was laughing his head off by the time he was finished explaining.

"How did you know that would work?" I asked bewildered.

"A little luck!" He winked

"Thank you, Fred!! No one has ever stood up for me like that." I gave him a big hug as a thanks.

"I would do anything for you, Y/n. I love you." He told me, returning my hug.

"I love you too, Fred!! I have since the day we met." I leaned up and kissed his cheek.

Fred leaned down and kissed me on the lips.

"Y/n, will you be my Girlfriend?" He asked, making me smile.

I kissed him again in response.

"I missed that. Can you say that again?" I stood on my tip toes again, kissing him more passionately.

We pulled apart and went down to the Black Lake. We sat together on a rock enjoying the sun. I smirked as I shoved Fred into the lake and waited for him to resurface. When he didn't, I jumped in after him. As I swam around searching for him, Fred came up from underneath me picking me up and threw me back into the lake. We swam around in the soft glow of the sunset, reflecting on the water of the Black Lake.
