(Y/n's P.O.V)
McGonagall called all students to the Great Hall. A moment passed before James stood up, picking me up. I just wanted to feel his arms around me; I felt safe in his arms. He made his way to the stairs. He was very careful as he made his way down the stairs and down to the Hall.
"A first-year student has gone missing. Most of the time, we assume they have just gotten lost and quickly turned up, but Y/n Lupin was last seen at around 2:00 a.m.
She usually joins her friends and brother in the common room before making her way to breakfast, but she never meets them. Due to other encounters with students..." There was a pause before McGonagall continued. "There is a real worry for her safety."At that moment, James kicked the door open.
Dumbledore stood from where he sat; he and McGonagall ran down the aisle toward us, and so did Sirius. Peter stood staring at us, fear on his face.
"Y/n, where were you?"
"What happened?"
"Are you okay?"
I didn't know who or where the voices were coming from, but it was too much as I buried my head in James' neck. His hand shot up to hold my head.
"Sh, it's okay." He mumbled into my ear.
"Y/N!!!" My brother entered the Hall, running over to me.
James put me down as I hugged my brother.
"Let's take this elsewhere," Dumbledore suggested, leading us out.
Dumbledore took us to the hospital wing; I held James's hand while my brother held me close to his side. I felt safe with James and Remus.
"Y/n, could you tell us what happened?" Dumbledore asked.
I shake my head, burying it back in my brother's shoulder.
"She said something about Peter." Some footsteps faded away, presumably to go get him.
My brother helped me onto the bed as Madam Pomfrey ran over. Remus sat beside me, holding my hand, and James held the other.
I sat staring at my feet. Everything ran through my head. I sat there for hours; it was like that night again, except Remus wasn't there to protect me this time. The last time when I froze up,
Remus was there. He jumped in between Greyback and me.
Now, he hadn't been there, and for that, he would feel guilty while I still felt guilty about him saving me, but why didn't I want to tell him what happened? I told Remus everything, but all I wanted to do was to talk to James. Yes, I found comfort in my brother's presence, but something about James.
Once the teachers and Sirius left, Remus stepped out to use the bathroom, leaving James and me alone.
"I was hurt... you thought I didn't like you... it ripped me to shreds. I needed air. I heard footsteps... I thought... I hoped... it was you." I cried, turning to him.
He stood from where he had been sitting, letting go of my hand instead of hugging me.
