SeverusXReader A Forbidden Love Part 2

(Y/n's P.O.V)

I found a more comfortable outfit than the robes I had arrived in. I grabbed a pair of blue skinny jeans, a black lace pock-a-dot shirt, and black heels.

I grabbed my favorite set of purple robes. 

I went to leave the bedroom, but when I opened the door, I found myself face to face with Severus, who was more like a face-to-chest. I huffed, ignoring him as I pushed past him, throwing my robe over the top. My long hair was in two braids, and the necklace I always wore sat on my chest where it always is.

I held onto the necklace, took a deep breath, and walked out into the hallway and down to the common area. I could feel Severus' presence behind me, but I ignored him as I sat down in the area. He sat a couple of seats away on my right.

"Y/n dear!" McGonagall came over with her arms stretched; I stood and returned her embrace. 

"How long has it been?"

"A fair few years, Minni!" Minerva had taken me in when my parents died.After Lilly and James died, I kind of went out on my own and found myself. I didn't even tell Minni I was going. She had raised me since the age of six, and I didn't even tell her I was leaving.

---Flash back----

My Mum was one of Minni's old students and fell pregnant just before she graduated. She miscarried during the third trimester, and that's when Minni gave her this necklace.

Three years after she graduated, she fell pregnant with me. Mini was given the role of my godmother. Shortly after, my father overdosed. Mini was there for me and my Mum. On my 6th birthday, Mum left me with Minni while she went to work on the way back. Voldemort's death eaters ambushed her; she refused to join the cause, so they ended her.

When my Mum never came home, Minni worried, so she took me straight to Dumbledore, who went out looking for her. He found her dead and brought her back to Hogwarts to the hospital wing, leaving her with the healer while he went to tell Minni, who was still sitting in Dumbledore's office, trying to distract me.

Minni was heartbroken when she got the news, but she did her best to hold it together as she held me close. She gave me my Mum's necklace at her funeral, telling me she would always be there with me.

It was four or five years ago that I got back in touch with her. We mailed each other, and then, about two months ago, I got a letter from Dumbledore and from Minni begging me to come back.

I sat back down, fiddling with my necklace as I watched Dumbledore, trying to listen.

(Severus' P.O.V)

I sat watching Y/n. She was fiddling with her necklace, just like she did when we were children. She did that whenever she was distracted and upset. Even though she was Slytherin, the other Slytherins teased her relentlessly, which is why she became friends with the Gryffindors.

---Flash Back---

I had been at Hogwarts just a couple of weeks and hadn't made any friends yet. In fact, I felt I was losing one of the only friends I did have. Lilly had been sorted into Gryffindor and spent most of the time with her Gryffindor friends rather than me.

I had just walked into the library to study, moving to the back table, where I found a girl sitting at my normal table. I could see her Slytherin robes. Even if she was tightly wound in a ball, I could see her tear-stained face. It only took me a couple of seconds to recognise her.

"What's wrong with you?" I sigh.

She jumped as if she hadn't seen me.

"I-i'm sorry!" She jumped up and went to run, but I grabbed her wrist.

Fireworks shot through my arm, and as she looked up to look at me, her eyes shone so brightly. Even without the tears, I knew her eyes would shine brighter than the sun. I had never noticed it before.

"Please sit, I want to help you." I pulled her back towards the table, but she tripped and landed on my lap.

She looked up at me, but I quickly diverted my eyes. We didn't move for a minute before I helped her to stand.

---time skip---

(Still in the flashback)

I was going to meet Lilly and Y/n in the library when I walked past a crying cupboard. I was going to keep walking, but I recognised those sobs. I knocked on the door, which stopped the crying. I stood and listened for a couple of minutes before another sob escaped, and I barged in there. We just sat there; I held her in my arms, trying to calm her down.

Her hand reached up to my chest as she sobbed into my shoulder. My heart fluttered, and I wrapped my arms around her.

We never spoke about why she was upset, but it's because of it that we became such close friends, and that was the moment I realised that I loved her. I regret...
