(3rd Person P.O.V)
Y/n had been one of the smartest students at Hogwarts in her time. A Ravenclaw that spent all her time reading and writing, her brilliance rivalled even Hermione. Y/n didn't have much social life; she never sat with the other students for meals, went to Hogsmeade, and never went to Quidditch matches. Y/n did nothing but study.
Ron on the other hand, battled Voldemort a million and one times, he survived. No matter what the world put them through the Golden Trio always survived.
Y/n and Ron's paths never really crossed until years after school, at the Ministry of Magic. Y/n worked as a researcher in the Department of Mysteries and Ron was an Auror. They had met when Ron had made his way down to the Department of Mysteries with questions about a curse artifact they had found during a raid.
The moment he walked into the cluttered office with tomes and parchment scrapes piled as high as the roof, he chuckled, it reminded him of his home growing up.
"You live like my brother Percy works." He said, gesturing to the chaos. "All brain, no hands."
"And you look like someone who never opened a book without someone forcing him to." The hairs stood up on her arms, but she couldn't help the smile tugging at her lips.
"Guilty as charged. So, can you tell me what this thing does, or should I just hit it with a Blasting Curse and see what happens?" He smirked.
"Most definitely don't send a Blasting Curse at it unless you want to blow up the whole Ministry. Leave it with me and come back in two or three days and I'll let you know what I can find." Y/n took the artifact and spent the next couple of days studying it.
When Ron returned two days later she was able to give Ron answers about the artifact. After that Ron found every excuse to go and ask Y/n questions about artifacts and symbols, even things his team already knew plenty about. He even begun going to her on her days of venturing to her apartment after smuggling potentially dangerous artifacts out of the Ministry smuggling it under his cloak.

On this particular day he came bearing what looked like a wooden map.
"Evening Professor!" Ron greeted as Y/n opened the door. "This little beauty shows all the secret tunnels in Knockturn Alley. Fancy helping me figure out which ones lead to trouble?"
Y/n sighed but couldn't suppress her excitement. They spent the evening sprawled on her living room floor, pouring over the map. Ron's street smarts came alive as he pointed out likely ambush spots, while Y/n cross-referenced her books to identify wards and hidden dangers.
"You're pretty good at this you know!" Ron said after a while, watching her scribble notes.
"You seem surprised." She raised an eyebrow.
"Nah, I just mean... We're a good team, yeah? You bring the brains; I bring the brawn. Together, we're unstoppable." He smirked at her.
"I suppose we are." Her cheeks flushed, but she smiled none the less.

Months past with many afternoons such as the last. During an auror mission gone wrong, Ron found himself trapped in a collapsing tunnel. The walls were closing in, the air thick with dust and panic. He managed to activate the enchanted mirror Y/n had given him, her face appearing on the glass.
"Ron! Are you okay?" She asked, her voice sharp with worry.
"Could be better," He grunted, dodging a falling beam. "I need a spell to reinforce the walls. Something simple, yeah?"
"Umm, Try Fortifluctus! It's a basic strengthening charm-concentrate on the weakest points." Y/n's mind raced as she scanned her brain for spells that could help.
Ron cast the spell as he steadied himself focusing on the goal. To his relief, the walls steadied. When he finally climbed out of the tunnel hours later, bruised but alive, she was waiting for him at the Ministry.
"Told you we're unstoppable," Ron said grinning through the dirt on his face.
"You're an idiot, Ron Weasley." She rolled her eyes but hugged him tightly.
"Yeah, but I'm your idiot!" He replied, and for once, she didn't argue.
