(Lyra's P.O.V)
Hi, I'm Lyra Lestrange. I'm a seventh-year Slytherin, and my best friend is a seventh-year Hufflepuff, Cedric Diggory. I am an only child, but my younger cousin, Draco Malfoy, is in his fourth year.
Cedric, Draco, Uncle Lucius and I are attending the Quidditch World Cup. I know what will happen at the end of the match, but her priority is to make sure Cedric is safe. As they make their way to their seats, I spot Blaise Zabini, a fellow Slytherin in Draco's year, and her secret crush. She is thrilled and a little nervous to see him there. Cedric is the only person who knows about her feelings for Blaise.
As we walk to our seats, Cedric notices that I'm a bit lost in thought. He asks if I'm okay, and I responds that I'm just stuck in my own thoughts. However, Cedric knows me too well and can tell when I am upset. He guesses that it's due to family matters and too much pressure. I'm surprised that he can read me so well, and to prove him wrong, I try thinking of a random number, '31'. Cedric correctly guesses my number and explains that he knows me well because we've been best friends since his first year at Hogwarts.
(3rd Person P.O.V
The match ends, and they start heading back to their tent. Suddenly, the tents begin to fly, and some catch fire. Masked men and women storm the campsite, wands at the ready. They are Death Eaters, arriving precisely on time. Lyra grabs Cedric's hand and rushes to the Malfoy tent, where she finds her cousin and Blaise. They flee to the forest and hide, waiting for Lyra's mother and uncle to finish the march. Lyra pretends to be panicked and clueless about what's happening to avoid suspicion.
They eventually find a portkey to Cedric's house, and Lyra tells him to go while she stays with Draco and Blaise. They will find another portkey back to Malfoy Manor, and she'll see him when school commences. Cedric is hesitant, but Lyra convinces him that it's too dangerous for all of them to go together.
After Cedric leaves, Lyra and the boys move closer to the forest edge. They wait for Lucius Malfoy, who is among the Death Eaters, to come and get them. A few days later, Harry returns from the maze with Cedric's dead body. Lyra screams and runs to her best friend's body, crying uncontrollably. Blaise comes over to comfort her, and she turns to him, crying on his shoulder. He rubs her back, trying to calm her down.
Blaise stays with Lyra after Cedric's death, and a few days later, she decides to confess her feelings to him. They walk on the outskirts of the forest, and Lyra tells Blaise that she likes him. He responds that he likes her too, but Lyra clarifies that she means more than just liking him. She tells him that she loves him, and Blaise reciprocates her feelings.
