After the Battle of Hogwarts, Neville went on to become an Auror. Alongside the usual violent attacks, Neville answered numerous calls about bar fights at the Leaky Cauldron, where he ran into Hannah Abbott.

After Hogwarts, Hannah started working as a barmaid and worked her way up the chain until the old barkeeper, Tom, retired, leaving her the Leaky Cauldron.

One day, after a call, Neville stayed back to help Hannah clean up. They had some drinks together and talked, catching up on Hogwarts and what had happened four years after they had left.

Neville and Hannah spent more and more time together; within weeks, they started dating, and within a year, they were married.

Months later, Hannah discovered she was pregnant; she and Neville were over the moon about being parents, so Hannah hired extra help.

Less than a year after their wedding, Hannah and Neville welcomed their baby girl, Amanda. (I researched to work out timeframes, and James Sirius Potter was born in 2004, so he is most likely younger than me.)

After Amanda was born, Neville wanted to be there for her, and he didn't want to be in a dangerous spot every other week. He quit his job at the Auror office and went to Professor McGonagall to ask for a job at Hogwarts.

He was given the position of Herbology assistant, and he, Hannah, and Amanda moved into Hogwarts castle. Hannah took a couple of months off work but had to get back, so she would leave Amanda with her father while she ran to Diagon Alley to work.

Neville didn't mind having Amanda tag along to class with him, but it was harder to tend to some of the more dangerous plants with a baby strapped to his front.

No one complained about having the girl come along with him, but it made it hard for him to work, so Hannah and Neville approached Professor McGonagall to look after Amanda once a week while both were busy.

Hannah worked Sunday through Monday while Neville watched Amanda. Neville worked Thursday and Friday while Hannah watched Amanda. They both worked on Wednesdays, which was when Headmistress McGonagall watched Amanda.

This continued for about five years before Professor Sprout quit and Neville was promoted. He worked five days a week as a Herbology teacher and became head of Gryffindor house, which gave him more responsibility. Hannah adjusted her schedule to work four days a week, allowing her to be home with Amanda on Fridays, and they could all spend time together on the weekends.

Amanda started going to work with Neville again three days a week, but she still spent Wednesdays with the headmistress.

Amanda's first day at Hogwarts was the happiest day of her life. She made her parents take her to Platform 9 3/4 and wave to her as the train left.

She rode the train like any other student, taking the boats to the castle. It was upon arriving at Hogwarts that Amanda met James Potter. They stood waiting for Neville or Professor Longbottom to welcome them to Hogwarts.

Amanda stood at the front, eager to begin this new journey. James Potter was also very keen. He bumped into someone as he moved to the front of the crowd.

"Sorry!" He apologises as he grabs Amanda's hold, ensuring she won't fall.

"Not a worry! No harm done!" She smiled at him; that smile was what he fell in love with that day.

Their friendship grew over the next few years; James finally asked Amanda out in their third year. Amanda is a strong, brilliant young woman, and James Potter Jr. is the grandson of the master prankster and the grandson of a Maurader.
