(Y/n P.O.V)

As I tried to get my daughter ready for bed, I called out to my husband, Sirius, asking him where her pajamas were. I could feel the exhaustion creeping up on me. Being a new mother was a full-time job and my husband could be a bit of a man-child at times, but I knew he would step up when needed.

Sirius yelled back from the other room, letting me know that they were all in the washing machine. I let out a deep sigh, wondering if he had washed all of them. He could be frustrating at times, but I appreciated his help.

After dressing my daughter in some of my pajamas, which I had shrunk to fit her, I laid her down to sleep and walked back into the family room. Sirius was lying on the couch, reading a book about parenting, and looked up as I sat down beside him.

It had been a rough day for me. Since Sirius wasn't home, he had no idea what had happened. After he arrived home, I had been too busy getting dinner and Lily ready for bed. Earlier that day, I received a letter from my sister, informing me of Monty's death.

Monty was my twin brother and my best friend. We were inseparable in school, along with our older sister, Cindy. We had always planned on traveling together, but after I met and fell in love with Sirius, got married, and became pregnant, I decided to stay back with him while my siblings explored the world. Initially, we wrote letters to each other every day, but as time passed, it became less frequent, until we only wrote once a month. I missed my siblings terribly, and it pained me that my brother was lost to the world.

"I received a letter from my sister today," I told Sirius, tears welling up in my eyes. "She informed me that... that M-Monty died."

Sirius pulled me onto his lap, comforting me, and suggested that he take the next two weeks off so that I could visit my sister and attend my brother's funeral while he watched over Lily.

"We should start packing then cause I'm not going alone," I said, getting up from his lap to help him pack.

We packed our things, including Lily's, while Sirius sent a letter to his boss. We then flew to my sister's RV. Sirius held Lily as I dropped off our belongings and ran to my sister.

"Y/n, you came!" she exclaimed, hugging me tightly.

"Of course. We're here now. Sirius took some time off so we could come to see you," I replied, relieved to be with my family again. My sister looked behind me, seeing her niece for the first time, her eyes lighting up with joy.
