"Hello Sam, Gary" a nurse says "Little baby, has she got a name?" She beams at them. "Lily" Gary smiles looking at the sleeping baby. "Awww, what a lovely name!" She gives the brightest smile. "Yeah it is" Gary smiled rubbing his hand on Sam's arm in support. "Now if it's alright with you I'm just going to take her over here and do some tests. As you know she was premature, but we checked her lungs and they were fully developed. Now we just need to preform the basics like blood tests" She was still smiling. "Yeah, can I look over you?" Gary asked standing up taking Lily from Sam and giving her to the nurse. "Of course"

Once Lily was on the table the nurse grabbed a small needle to prick her skin. The once sleeping baby now cried out in pain. "Shhhhh little baby" Gary soothed as he stood beside the nurse. She was weighed, measured and prodded at. Finally, the nurse wrapped Lily back up and handed her to Gary. "Sorry about that, it needed to be done" the nurse apologised. "No worries, I understand" Gary smiled and rocked his crying baby around. "Umm, someone will be in soon to help you with your first breast feeding" she smile at Sam then headed out of the room with her samples.

"You should call your mum Gary" Sam pulled Gary out of his trance. "Huh? Yeah, right, I'll call your parents too. And Rob and Chloe. And Mark and Emma. And Howard and Jay! Where did Ellie get to?" Gary asked as he handed Lily back to Sam where she snuggled against Sam's breast. "Err, I think she went running when I threatened to kill you" Sam laughed. "Oh, I'll see if I can find her too then" Gary picked up his phone and headed out of the room.

"Mum hi! I need you to come to the hospital. No nothing is wrong, everything is great! Sam had the baby!! Lily, we called her Lily. Yes, you can tell your friends just come see your granddaughter! Love you too bye!" Gary smiled and sat down as he ended the call. She was so adorable, he loved his mother very much. The same conversation happened again when he called Sam's parents. They lived much closer than his mum so they would be here first. The next calls were going to be easy, but he had another plan in mind.

"They on their way?" Sam asked quietly as he walked back in the room. "Parents are yep." Gary smiled holding out his phone like he was trying to take a picture. "And the boys?" She raised her eyebrow at his actions. "Na, smile" he urged and took a photo of Sam holding Lily. "I'll just text them" He said and sunk down into the chair concentrating on sending the message to more than one person. "You know what your doing?" Sam held back the giggle. "Mmmmhh" he replied furrowing his brow as he worked it out. "All sent!" He smiled and parented to dust his hands off. "Call Ellie?" Sam suggested.
