Regulus Black POV. Time skip, a few months later.
Regulus stares down at the transparent case, its glass pristine with barely a fingerprint marring its surface.
Lights inside the case illuminate an array of gems, each reflecting the light beautifully.
"That one's pretty," Evan mutters, pointing at one of the many rings inside.
Regulus glances at the ring Evan indicates. It is lovely, but it isn't Josephine.
He isn't sure what exactly he is looking for. Finding a wedding ring that embodies Josephine's essence is proving to be a daunting task.
Regulus fiddles with one of the rings on his finger. A wave of nervous excitement surges through him at the thought of marrying Josephine. He can only hope she will say yes.
Fortunately, Regulus has the means to buy the perfect ring. After his parents were sent to Azkaban for numerous charges, all their money came to him.
"Hello, sir. Is there anything you need help with today?" a woman behind the counter asks.
Both he and Evan look up.
"Just looking for the right ring," Regulus replies, his tone a bit sharp.
He is nervous, though he hates to admit it. Josephine is spending the day with Pandora, which is surprising. Josephine hasn't been in the best mental state lately—rarely leaving the house or eating much. She is slowly improving, though, little by little.
"If you need any help, I'll be nearby!" The woman walks away.
"We've been here for thirty minutes, Reg," Evan groans.
"When you pick out Barty's ring, I'm not helping you," Regulus snaps.
"That's fine, Josette will," Evan smirks.
Regulus glares at him before turning back to the rings.
Then he sees it.
A silver band twisted around a blue sapphire, with small diamonds embedded in the silver like tiny flowers in a vine, the gem in the center like the largest blossom.
Regulus quickly calls the woman back over.
Soon, he is leaving the store with Evan, the ring box in his hand.
"It's pretty, she'll love it," Evan says as they walk slowly.
"If she says yes," Regulus mutters, staring at the ring for another second before closing the box.
Evan glares at him. "That's the dumbest thing you've ever said."
Regulus rolls his eyes slightly. "You go home. I need to do something."
Evan narrows his eyes at Regulus but listens. He goes down an alleyway and apparates back to the house.
Regulus makes his way to the flower shop. He quickly picks out two bouquets, mostly blue and white flowers. Once he pays for them, he slips into an alleyway and apparates to a small village.
