Nerves course through her body, and her hands tremble.

Today is her wedding.

"Just distract me, please," Josephine implores, glancing at Evie while Dorcas works on her hair.

"Um..." Evie hesitates, her attention drifting from Josie's wrist as she helps fasten a bracelet. "I met someone."

"Really?" Josie smiles, but quickly composes herself to let Pandora finish her makeup.

"Yeah, her name's Ara."

Josephine freezes slightly. "Ara? That's a lovely name."

Could it be the same Ara?

If it is, Evie is in for quite a surprise—Josie has invited Ara.

"She's gorgeous," Evie adds.

"Close your eyes," Pandora instructs.

Josephine obeys, shutting her eyes. Merlin, she is nervous. Very nervous. She and Regulus haven't seen each other for a day. Her wedding day.

Josephine has never imagined she would get married. She hasn't thought much about her future when she was younger.

Her dress is beautiful, at least to her.

It is an off-the-shoulder white gown, with thick fabric draping elegantly off the shoulders, adorned with intricate white lace. The bodice is a masterpiece of lace and stunning designs, and the skirt flares gracefully from the waist.

She loves it.

"Okay, done," Pandora says.

Josephine opens her eyes, meeting Pandora's gaze.

"You look gorgeous," Pandora beams.

"Thank you, Dora," Josie says, turning to the vanity mirror.

For once, she feels beautiful.

Dorcas has just finished her hair, a simple yet elegant style with small braids pulling her hair back, leaving a few curls loose.

"Gorgeous," Nyla says as she walks into the room.

Josephine turns toward her aunt with a smile.

"We'll make sure everything is in place," Pandora says with a broad smile.

Then it is just Nyla and Josephine in the room.

"How are you feeling?" Nyla asks, stopping behind the chair where Josie is seated.

Josephine takes a deep breath. "Nervous, scared."

Nyla smiles gently. "Your mother was quite nervous on her wedding day too." Her smile turns nostalgic as she reveals something she has hidden behind her back.
