A few days later Kara was once again laying out on an exam table with her abdomen exposed as some cold gel went onto it. "Let's see if the tests are correct." Their doctor said. "Yes! We've been growing impatient for this day." Lena replied. "Yes we have." Kara added. The doctor began moving the wand over Kara's abdomen looking for any sign of a heartbeat. Suddenly there it was! A fast beating heart inside Kara's womb. Blue and green eyes filled with happy tears as they listened to the heartbeat. "Congratulations!" The doctor said with a smile. "How far along are we?" Lena asked. "You're about two weeks along. So if I were in your shoes I'd keep news of the pregnancy quiet till after the first trimester. And Kara, I know you work as a reporter but I'm recommending you to work from home for the foreseeable future especially with the bad morning sickness you are experiencing." The doctor explained. "Of course." Kara replied.
A few minutes later they were in the car heading home. "Stuck at home....for the foreseeable future...." Kara groaned. "It's for our baby love. And I'll be home earlier now, since I've gotten all the transfer of the company paperwork done so I'll be able to leave at four instead of six....or seven." Lena replied. "I know...I guess this way I won't have to worry about getting sick all day at the office. This way I can have the comfort of our home to laze around and do work." Kara replied.
"Yes you will. And if you get sick you'll be able to do it in the privacy of our bathroom. And you can always order some more egg drop soup since it's one of the few things you can eat and keep down." Lena added as they got out of the car and headed inside. "Yes I can...." Kara trailed off as they headed into the elevator together. "Do you want me to order some now?" Lena asked knowing what her wife wanted. Kara looked at her and smiled. "Ok love...I'll order us some food." Lena replied with a smile.
