Saturday came and Kara and Lena were busy in their kitchen preparing a nice chicken dinner for their guests who would be arriving later that evening. "Everything looks lovely darling." Lena said as Kara pulled the pie from the oven. "Thank you sweetheart! I want it to be perfect." Kara replied. Lena walked up to her as she pulled off the oven mitts and pulled the blonde into a hug and slowly rubbed her back. "Everything....is gonna be fine darling." Lena whispered. "I know...I know...I'm just kinda nervous." Kara replied. "I know...but I promise you everything will be perfect. Madison and her wife are looking forward to it." Lena said reassuringly.
A few minutes later Kara and Lena had finished up the food and had sat it on the table just as there was a knock on their door. "That's them!" Kara exclaimed. Lena took her wife's hand and walked to the door to greet their guests. "Madison! Alice! Welcome to our home! This is my wife Kara, Kar, you remember Madison, and this is her wife Alice." Lena said introducing them. "It's a pleasure to meet you Kara, Lena! Madisons told me all about you!" Alice replied smiling at them. "All good things I hope..." Kara replied. "Of course all good things!" Madison replied.
"Well come in...dinner's all ready! Kitchen's this way." Lena said as she shut the door behind them. "Wow! This looks absolutely delicious!" Madison gushes. "Thank you! It's all Kara's doing...I just helped chop vegetables for the salad." Lena replied. "Well it looks wonderful Kara!" Alice added. "Thank you!" Kara replied with a smile. Lena grabbed the wine and poured it into their glasses before sitting next to Kara. "Go on, dig in!" Lena said with a smile.
After dinner everyone headed to the living room to continue talking. "You two have a very lovely home!" Madison stated as she sat next to Alice on the sofa. "Thank you. We moved in here during college." Lena replied. "Kara, I've been reading your recent articles, you do incredible work." Alice stated. "Thank you." Kara replied with a smile. "What's going on now in Cat Co? Any interesting gossip from Cat Grant herself?" Madison asked. "Oh...I've actually been put on bed rest after everything." Kara replied. Alice and Madison shared a look before Lena spoke up. "Kara and I are expecting..." Lena stated. "OH! Congratulations! That's very exciting!" Madison gushed. "Thank you! We're only about a month along." Kara replied. "That's wonderful news!" Alice added. "We were very excited when we found out...well I was nervous..and I made Lee look at the tests." Kara admitted. "Awe that's sweet." Alice gushed.
A few hours later Alice and Madison were hugging their hostess bye. "We had a wonderful time tonight! Thank you for inviting us! We'll have to do this again...we'll host next time." Madison said. "We look forward to it! Thank you for coming!" Lena replied as they waved them off and shut the door.
