Lena, Sam and Alex unpacked and put away everything from the baby shower. Kara remained in the living room lying back on the sofa with her feet up on a pillow. Maggie had joined them but stayed with Kara to keep her company. "So how are you feeling little Danvers?" Maggie asked. "Sore..tired..grumpy.." Kara grumbled. "Want me to heat up some macaroni and cheese?" Maggie asked. "Please, and can you bring me some strawberry lemonade too Mags?" Kara asked. "Of course little Danvers." Maggie replied as she walked to the kitchen.
Back in the nursery everyone else was hard at work finishing up unpacking everything. "Ok! I've got the clothes and blankets and other things that need to be washed." Sam said. "Ok! We're just about finished putting everything else away. After loading the washer do you mind checking on Kara?" Lena asked. "Sure thing. But you remember Maggies there...right." Sam replied. "I know...but she may be busy doing something or in the bathroom..." Lena replied. "Ok...I'll go check on my moody pregnant sister in law." Sam joked.
"Here let me help you sit up a bit..." Maggie said as she returned to the living room with the food and drink. Once Kara was sitting up better Maggie handed Kara the bowl of macaroni and cheese and placed the glass of strawberry lemonade on the coffee table. "Thank you Mags." Kara replied. Sam entered the room at that moment to see Kara eating and Maggie sitting next to her holding the glass with the straw inside it.
Sam loaded and started the washing machine before walking back out to the living room and joining them on the sofa. Kara just finished her food and was sipping her drink when Sam sat down. "Feel better Kara?" Sam asked. "Yea...is the nursery ready?" Kara asked. "Yep! It's all setup and everything is puta way or being washed." Sam replied. "Goood...." Kara yawned.
A few minutes later Sam and Lena returned to the living room where Lena sat next to Kara who quickly leaned on her wife's shoulder still yawning. "Rest now love. Everything's ready for our daughter." Lena whispered as she wrapped her arm around Kara's waist. Kara nodded and soon fell asleep in Lena's arms. "We're gonna head out now...but we'll be back later for girls night." Alex whispered. Lena nodded at them as they left.
Kara napped for over an hour before waking up and needing the bathroom immediately. "Are you gonna be ok to have girls night tonight?" Lena asked. "Yea...I'm ok now that I've napped." Kara replied. "Ok...I have something to tell you." Lena said. "What is it?" Kara asked her eyes wide with fear. "I've decided to work from home for the remainder of the pregnancy. You're on maternity leave and now so am I...well mostly." Lena replied. Even though it was good news Kara's hormones caused her to burst into tears. Lena quickly hugged her and wiped her tears away. "It's ok darling. I'm here. And I'm not leaving you." Lena reassured as she rubbed the blondes back. After a little bit Kara relaxed but remained by Lena's side.
A few hours later Lena had ordered Chinese food and pizzas for girls night. Kara remained by her side all night. "So do you know who's gonna be in the delivery room with you two?" Sam asked. "Our moms will be in there with us." Kara replied. "They'll also be the ones who tell you all when she's out." Lena replied. "Ah shucks..well I can't wait to hold mini Danvers-Luthor." Maggie added. "Ah shucks? Mags really?" Alex asked laughing at her. "What? I don't want to swear with the baby being right there." Maggie exclaimed. Everyone including Kara laughed at the woman who scoffed at all of them as she ate her food.
