Morning found Kara in the kitchen making the strangest breakfast Lena's ever seen before in her life. However she knew better than to say anything about Kara's pregnancy cooking...especially after what happened last time. Kara was making scrambled eggs and toast one morning and put hot sauce and shredded coconut on top of it before eating it. Lena asked her why she had put all that stuff on the eggs and well...Kara didn't speak to her for a week after that. She'd said something along the lines of... "now you're teasing me about how I eat...I knew you'd hate me for getting fat!" Then she ran off into their room and collapsed on their bed and sobbed into the pillow. Lena took the morning off to remake Kara's breakfast and bring it into her a few hours later only to get yelled at again and told to go to work and leave her be.
After work Lena stopped by and got four dozen of Kara's favorite flowers, two orders of potstickers, two slices of double chocolate cake and four bags of Kara's favorite sour gummy worms. On top of that Lena had to apologize profusely over and over again for days after that just so Kara would forgive her. Now she lets Kara do her thing breakfast wise and she takes care of everything else. Right now Kara's sitting at the table eating more spicy scrambled eggs and toast with a pile of bacon while Lena sat opposite her and ate a bowl of sliced fruit.
"Good love?" Lena asked. "Yep! I'm not sure why she likes spicy food...but she does..." Kara replied. "Well maybe she'll have a high tolerance for it when she's born." Lena replied. "Yea...could be...do you have a lot to do today?" Kara asked. "A few meetings, why?" Lena asked. "No reason...just thought I'd do some nursery shopping thats all." Kara said. "Oh...alright." Lena replied. "Yes...I know we're having a baby shower at some point...but I'd still like to order some of the stuff...like diapers and stuff like that." Kara replied. "Oh thats a good idea. We'll need a lot of those, I know that. Maybe tonight we can look at cribs and stuff." Lena suggested.
"Yes I'd like that. You should be getting ready to go though..huh?" Kara asked. "Unfortunately I do, you're right. But I'll call you later around lunch time and check up on you." Lena said as she picked up their dishes. "I know..." Kara replied. "I'm just glad you don't have anymore articles to write, right now. I'm glad I had that meeting with Cat the other day." Lena said. "I'm not...now I don't have anything to do." Kara groaned. "Yes you do darling. You can start planning for ho who's want the nursery to look." Lena hummed. "Yea..." Kara replied as she kissed Lena's cheek before waddling back to the sofa and plopping down. "Have a good day Lee!" Kara called. "You too darling." Lena replied as she walked out the door.
