Many of you probably already know this, and half of you will probably hate me for reminding you of it, but Abby Wambach announced her retirement today. It is highly unlikely that the woman herself will ever read this, but seeing as Wattpad is the only thing vaguely social media-ish that I am on, I'm going to say this here. Abby, you inspired an entire generation of soccer players. You are an amazing forward, you are helping more women join the fight for equal rights, and you are helping in the fight for equal rights for same-sex couples. I think I echo the sentiments of the majority, if not the entirety, of the women's soccer world when I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Don't get emotional...don't get emotional...fuck it. I'm crying.
