Prompt: Moe is sad that Lauren is retiring and won't talk to anyone or do anything, she just stays in her hotel room and cries cause she doesn't want her "mom" to leave the team, so her roommate, Alex, tries to comfort her and brings Lauren in to talk to Morgan to cheer her up.
"I really don't want to do this to you all, but I also want to spend time with my husband." Cheney said. "I'm leaving the team and the NWSL." there were collective gasps and tears from Tobin and Arod. The person who the team was most worried about, however, was Moe. Upon hearing the news, the youngest midfielder buried her face in her hands and ran out of the conference room. "Just leave her." Alex said when Kling tried to follow her girlfriend. "She'll need some time to herself." Kling nodded, and the two women joined the team in a group hug. At dinnertime, Moe still hadn't made a reappearance, so Abby went and knocked on her door. "Moe?" she asked cautiously. "It's time for dinner, sweetie." there was no answer. Abby knocked again. "Morgan, honey, you need to eat." she said. Still nothing. Abby shrugged, and went back down to dinner. "Where's Moe?" Cheney and Kling asked in unison. "I dunno." Abby said. "She might be in her room, but she didn't answer when I knocked." "I shouldn't have told her." Cheney said. "I should have known how hard it would hit her." "No, you made the right choice." Abby said. "If you hadn't told her, she probably wouldn't have found out until your last game, and it would've hit her harder." "True." Cheney said. "But I still feel bad." "Moe's my roommate." Alex said. "I can check on her when I go upstairs." Cheney and Kling nodded and went back to their food. After dinner, Alex went up to her room. Moe was lying on the bed, asleep. There were tear stains on her face, so Alex guessed that she'd cried herself to sleep. She texted Cheney and Kling.

Poor girl. ~Cheney
Ouch. Poor Moe. ~Kling
Alex got changed and lay down next to Moe. She put her arm around the younger girl's shoulder, and fell asleep. When Alex woke up, Moe was still asleep. Alex didn't want to wake her, so she got dressed quietly and went down to breakfast. "Where's Moe?" Cheney asked. "Still asleep." Alex replied. "I think we should give her some time." "Alright." Abby said. "I'll tell Coach." a week went by, and Moe still wasn't at practice. "I'm going to talk to her." Cheney said. "Alex, can I borrow your room key?" "Sure." Alex said, handing over her key. "Thanks." Cheney said. she walked up to Moe and Alex's room and went in. Moe was sleeping on the bed. Cheney went over and shook the younger girl's shoulder gently. Moe woke up, saw Cheney, and threw her arms around her, crying into the older midfielder's chest. "It's alright, Moe." Cheney said, rubbing Moe's back. "It's alright, sweetie." "No, it's not." Moe sobbed. She looked up at Cheney with bloodshot eyes. "Do you have to leave?" she asked. "Yes. I've got to stop soccer sometime, and I want to spend more time with my husband. I'll miss you, and I know you'll miss me, but you're going to have to move on. You've still got the rest of the team, Tobin and Kling and everyone else." "I know, but it's not the same!" Moe protested. "I know it isn't." Cheney said. "But you have to stay strong and kick ass for me. Got it?" Moe sighed. "I guess." she said. "I'm going to miss you, Cheney." "I'm going to miss you too, Moe." Cheney said.
