Hope's P.O.V.
I leaned my head against the cold stone wall, cursing myself. I could picture her look of terror and desperation in her brown eyes as they tore her out of my arms. my girlfriend, Carli Lloyd. The light of my life, my world, my everything. They took her from me, and I couldn't do anything about it. Lightning flashed overhead, and thunder rumbled. even that sent a stab of guilt through me. Carli hated storms. Whenever there was thunder, she would throw herself into my arms, trembling, and I would comfort her. But where was I now? Locked in a cell with no idea where the woman I loved was. The cell door opened, and I clenched my fists, ready to fight. the guards brought someone into the cell and cuffed her ankles to the wall next to mine, then left. Whoever it was latched onto my shirt. "I'm scared, Hopey." she whimpered. Carli. I wrapped my arms around her. "I know, Carlos." I said. "I'll protect you." Carli nodded and fell asleep on my chest. I got as comfortable as I could and closed my eyes, but at that moment, the guards brought in two more people and cuffed them next to Carli. The small, black haired figure was holding onto the brown haired figure's shirt, and the brown haired figure was holding the black haired figure tightly. "Keep holding onto her, Tobin." I said seriously. "Hope?" Tobin asked. "What are you doing here? Why are you telling me that?" "They took me." Carli mumbled. "What?" Thalia asked. "They took me." Carli repeated, louder. "When we first came here, they took me away from Hope, and they beat me. Hope doesn't want that to happen to Thalia." "Oh." Tobin said. She pulled Thalia closer. The door opened again, and Abby and Sarah were brought in. Abby was holding Sarah, but not in a comforting way, like how I was holding Carli, or in a scared way, like Tobin was holding Thalia. Abby was holding Sarah in a protective way that very clearly stated that if anyone wanted to get to Sarah, they'd have to go through her. "What the hell is going on here?" Abby asked. "We've been kidnapped." Tobin said. Abby rolled her eyes. "No shit, Sherlock." she said. "Why?" we all shrugged. "Dunno." I said. other couples were brought in. Alex and Pinoe, first. Then JJ and Press. Then Ali and Ash. Then Moe and Kling. Then Alyssa and Lori. Thalia whimpered and shifted in Tobin's arms. "What's wrong with her?" Alex asked. "They handled her pretty harshly when they kidnapped us." Tobin said. "She got thrown into the van." "My shoulder." Thalia whimpered. "It hurts." "Let's get a look at it." Carli said. she scooted towards Thalia while Sarah helped the youngest forward peel the t-shirt off her body. a stab wound stood out on Thalia's tan skin, still oozing blood. "There's a crate of fabric here, babe." I called to Carli. "Do you want some?" "Yes, please." Carli said. I passed a large piece to Carli, who started tearing it into strips and tying the strips around Thalia's shoulder. When she was done, Sarah helped Thalia put her shirt back on, and Thalia latched onto Tobin again and fell asleep. The next morning, guards cuffed our hands in front of us and led us-or dragged us, in Thalia's case-to a large room filled with torture weapons. We were lined up like elementary schoolers waiting to be picked for recess kickball, and a man in a dark grey suit walked in front of us. "Let me see..." he said, lifting Carli's chin and examining her face. "I've tortured you already, so let's choose someone else." he took Tobin's arm. "Yes, you look like a good one." he said. "NO!" Thalia yelled, trying to get to Tobin. A guard hit her in the gut, and she collapsed. "NO!" she yelled again as Tobin was cuffed to the wall. "STOP! TOBIN!" the men ignored her, and started on Tobin. Thalia gripped Abby's t-shirt tightly and buried her face into the older woman's chest, trying to block out the horrible screams of pain coming from Tobin. By the time they were done, Tobin's t-shirt was shredded and bloody, and she was unconscious. They let her go, and Thalia ran to her girlfriend. "Tobin!" she cried, shaking Tobin's shoulder. "Please, wake up Toby! Tobin!" we were taken back to our cell, and I handed Thalia a large piece of fabric. She took Tobin's shirt off and started carefully and lovingly bandaging the older woman's wounds. After she was done, she curled up into a ball with her head resting on Tobin's chest, and fell asleep. The next day, it was clear that Thalia was a shell of her former self, a mere shadow. She didn't resist when she was dragged to the torture room, nor did she snap and bite at the hands of the guards holding her, as she had previously done. As we stood in a line again, she was quiet, standing next to Abby, her head down. The man in charge noticed, and he lifted her chin so she was looking into his eyes. "There's something wrong, isn't there, kitten?" he asked. "What is it?" Thalia didn't answer. "You tortured her girlfriend yesterday." Abby spat. "And now she's suffering. Her girlfriend is still unconscious, and we don't know if she's ever going to wake up, thanks to you!" Thalia pulled away from the man's grip and buried her face in Abby's side. For the next week, neither Thalia nor Tobin showed any change. At the end of the week, the man showed up at our cell. "Is she showing any signs of change?" he asked. "No." I said. "Well, I could put her out of her misery." the man suggested. Thalia hissed and clutched Tobin's limp body to her chest. "No!" she growled. "I won't let you take her from me! Take one step towards her, and I will rip your throat out with my teeth, so help me god!" the man raised his hands in surrender and left the cell. As soon as he was gone, Thalia started crying. Sarah wrapped her arms around Thalia's small body and rubbed her back comfortingly. "I don't want her to die, Sarah!" Thalia sobbed. "I know." Sarah said soothingly. "I know you don't." "If she dies, I want one of you to kill me." Thalia said seriously. "If she dies, I want to die with her." "Okay, kiddo." Sarah said. Thalia curled up against Sarah and fell asleep. "You guys wouldn't have killed her, would you?" Tobin asked. "No." Abby said. "We-wait, Tobin?!" Tobin nodded. "Take your girl." Sarah said, shifting Thalia from her arms to Tobin's. as she did, Thalia stirred and woke up. "Toby?" she asked sleepily. "Yep." Tobin said. "It's me. Go back to sleep, babe. I've got you." "I love you." Thalia mumbled. "I love you too." Tobin said. Thalia fell asleep again, as did the rest of us. Later that night, the door opened, waking us all up. A guard stood at the doorway. Thalia grabbed Tobin tightly and hissed. "Relax." the guard said. "I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to get you out of this place." "Why?" I asked. "It's just not right, what he's doin' to you all." the guard said. "Especially what he did to you." he gestured to Thalia. "I got a little girl about your age, who has a girlfriend, just like you do." he said. "You just remind me of her." he took a key out of his pocket and unlocked our cuffs. Thalia still looked half asleep, so Tobin picked her up, and we followed the man out of the building to where a hovercraft was waiting. "There's some pilots in there who'll be gettin' you where you need to go." he said. "Thank you." I said as the rest of the girls climbed into the hovercraft. "It's nothin' miss." the guard said. "You take care." he tipped his hat, and we lifted off, headed for home.
