"If there's a prize for rotten judgement, I guess I've already won that." I growled. "He was a dick." "You'll find someone else." Abby said. "No man is worth the aggravation, Abby." I said. "That's ancient history: been there, done that." "Doesn't have to be a boy, Squirt." Abby said, grinning at me. She left the room, leaving me to my thoughts. About ten minutes later, there was a knock on my door. "Hello?" a girl's voice asked. "I'm coming!" I called. "Hold on a mo!" I opened the door, and saw a tanned girl with brown hair and warm brown eyes. "I'm Tobin Heath." the girl said. "I'm your roommate." "Thalia Skywalker." I said. "Nice to meet you." Tobin walked into the room, deposited her stuff by her bed, and headed towards the door. "I'm gonna go hang with my friends, if that's okay." she said. I chuckled. "I'm not gonna stop you." I said. Tobin laughed. "I didn't think you'd object." she said. "Later, Thalia." "Later, Tobin." I said. Tobin walked out the door, and I was left with my own thoughts again. Tobin was beautiful. "I'm not in love with her." I muttered. Who'd ya think you're kidding? She's the earth and heaven to ya. Try to keep it hidden, honey, we can see right through ya. Girl, ya can't conceal it, we know how you're feelin', who you're thinking of. the little chorus in my head started singing. "No chance, no way. I won't say it, oh, no." I muttered.

Tobin's P.O.V.

I walked into Arod and Cheney's room, thinking about Thalia. "What's on your mind, Tobs?" Cheney asked. "Nothing." I said. Cheney gave me a look that said that she didn't entirely believe me, but she didn't push the subject. "So what's your roommate like?" Arod asked. "She's pretty chill, I guess." I said. "Her name's Thalia Skywalker. She's really pretty, too." "Awwww, does Toby have a crush?" Cheney teased. "No." I said. You swoon, you sigh. Why deny it, uh oh? my inner voice said. "Tobin, you're blushing." Arod said. "Are you sure you don't have a crush on her?" "Fine!" I said. "I have a crush on her. Just don't tell her!" It's too cliché, I won't say I'm in love. I walked back to my room, and found Thalia sitting on the bed, reading something on her phone. "Hey, Tobin." she said. "Hey, Thalia." I said. "So what's your story?" "Well, I'm from St. Louis, I'm an orphan, and I live in an abandoned warehouse." Thalia said. "I was dating a guy named Luke, but he was a dick. He was abusive. I've still got the scars." "Ouch." I said. "Sorry about that." "It's alright." Thalia said. "I'm over him. What about you? What's your story?" "I'm from Basking Ridge, New Jersey." I said. "I was dating a guy named Sam, but he dumped me for no reason. I'm still pissed at him." Thalia nodded. She was just so beautiful, the way her tan skin seemed to glow, and how her freckles made her look younger than she is. Get a grip, girl. I thought. Unless you're dying to cry your heart out. "Tobin?" Thalia asked. "Huh?" I asked. "Sorry, I zoned out." "Yeah, you did." Thalia said, grinning. "I was asking if you'd found someone to replace Sam." I sat down next to her. "I think so." I said. "Have you found someone to replace Luke?" "I think so." Thalia said. We both leaned in, and our lips met. We broke apart, smiling at each other. I guessed that her thoughts echoed mine. At least out loud, I won't say I'm in love.
