Still Rogers P.O.V.
"That sounds good that!" I told Brian and John as they jammed together, myself still repeating the beat for them.
"Thanks Rog, could turn into something good this." John answered, his eyes still on his bass as he continued to play.
I turned my attention back to Freddie, I could see him through the little window and he had his head down on the desk, his hands together on the back of his head.
I furrowed my eyebrows, I had to go talk to him.
"I'll be right back, boys." I said to Brian and John as I got up from my drums, jumping down from the platform they were on and heading into the mixing desk booth.
I lingered in the doorway for a couple of seconds before I decided to quietly call his name, "Freddie?"
He jerked his head up after removing his hands from his head and turned in my direction, appearing a little startled.
"Oh, hi..." he said quietly before turning his attention to a mixing desk and pretending to fiddle about with it.
I walked towards him and sat on a chair beside him. "Are you alright?"
He didn't look at me, "I'm fine, darling."
"You're lying." I said, a little more stern this time, leaning towards him and willing him to make eye contact with me.
He glanced at me for a split second before looking away again, "Of course I'm not, don't be silly."
"Freddie." I pushed.
He sighed and looked down.
There was a long pause, I waited.
"I'm lonely...Roger." He said in almost a whisper.
There was a pang of pain in my heart, he looked broken as he said that, like he could burst into tears any second. I just wanted to bloody hug him.
"Ohh, mate! Of course you're not, you've got me, John, Bri..." I started to sympathise and was going to carry on until he interrupted me, he never looked at me.
"I don't have him though...do I. And I never will. Will I." He stated, rather than asked. "I'm sick of going home to an empty house...having nothing but my own company and that's fucking dangerous lately. I want somebody...constant. Not, strangers who I don't even know and only spend one night with. I want somebody, Roger, who's going to bloody fall in love with me." I saw him looking at Brian and my heart ached for him. I knew it. I knew he felt lonely.
"You don't know that, Fred. Maybe you should give him a sign, a clue? You haven't really given him anything to suggest that you want him." I soothed.
He was playing with his fingers in his lap, I could hear the sadness in his voice.
"I don't want to scare him away, Roger...I-I don't even think he likes men." He was barely audible as he spoke.
I rubbed him on the back, "Well...you didn't think I liked men...now look what's happened." I joked.
I saw him giggle a little and he smiled, he looked up at me then and I could see the torture in his eyes.
"True..." he admitted.
"I was umm...I was gonna ask John if he fancied going out for a few drinks tonight. Do you want to join us? I think you need to get him off your mind for a few hours." I nodded my head in Brian's direction, "It'll do you good."
He thought about it for a few seconds then nodded his head, "Yeah, okay I'll come, thanks Rog." He gave me a small smile.
"Alright ladies?"
We both jumped and turned towards the voice, it was Brian stood in the doorway with a smile on his face.
"Listen, I've got to nip off." He looked at his watch, "It's near the end of the day anyway, so I'll see you tomorrow!"
He waved as he walked off again, we watched him grab his bag and his coat and called out as he left, "See you tomorrow guys!"
"See ya!" We called back.
I looked at Freddie suspiciously, "Where's he off to?"
He shrugged, "I don't know..." then he gasped and grabbed my wrist tightly, "Roger, you don't think he's going on a date...do you?!"
I scoffed, "What, Brian?! No! If he was he would tell us."
He looked deep in thought.
Honestly? I said that to him to reassure, but I didn't know...maybe he was.
"Brian doesn't tell us anything about his private life..." he sulked.
"Come on. Let's get drunk and forget about the people who are driving us crazy." I tugged him up and he followed me.
"John, you're coming with us two to for a couple of drinks tonight." I grinned at him after walking out of the booth.
He looked up from packing his bass away and smiled...god, that smile.
"I am, am I?" He asked cheekily.
I nodded, "Yes you are!" I turned to both of them whilst putting on my coat, "I'll meet you both at Level at 8. Be there." I winked and waved at them as I left.
