Roll cameras part 2

Visiting hours

Around an hour later she wakes to see Joe sitting in the chair next to her and Matthew sat on his lap playing with his toy car.

She stretches and looks up at Joe who gives her a smile "welcome back to the land of the living" he smiles.

"Oh I must of drifted off" Niamh blushes.

"Mummy!" Matthew says happily.

"Remember Matthew, you must be careful" Joe says and Matthew nods.

"Can I hug?" He asks.

Niamh smiles and pats the bed as she sits up, "come on the trouble" she smiles.

Joe helps Matthew across onto the bed and Niamh hugs him tightly. She kisses his head and just hugs him, "Mummy your squishing me" Matthew giggles.

Niamh smiles and lets go, "have you been good?" She asks and Matthew nods innocently and looks at Joe.
"Do I have to ask Daddy?" Niamh asks and Matthew doesn't say anything.

She looks at Joe and he smiles, "he didn't sleep in his own bed last night" Joe says.

Matthew frowns at Joe and pulls a face, "and why was that?" Niamh asks Matthew.

"I wanted you mummy" he says as he starts to get tearful.

Niamh smiles as he's melted her heart once again, "oh Matthew" Niamh smiles and hugs him again.

"I told you Matty that you'd see mummy today, she'll be home soon" Joe smiles

Matthew clings to Niamh and plays with her hair as he hugs her, Niamh gives Joe a smile and he holds her free hand.

"He's really missed you" Joe smiles.

"Really? He usually isn't bothered by me being around he's all you recently" Niamh says.

Joe laughs and continues to stroke her hand, "what's that?" Matthew says as he points at Niamh's cannula in her hand.

"That gives mummy special medicine to make me better" Niamh says.

"Better?" He asks.

"Little darling, a little" Niamh smiles. Matthew hugs hugs her and smiles.

"Mummy love you" he smiles.

Niamh smiles as her heart melts, the Doctor comes back over. Matthew tries to hide his face in Niamh but Joe takes him off the bed.

The doctor does some more checks over on Niamh and looks at Matthew, "this must be your son you told me about" the Doctor smiles.

Niamh smiles "Matthew say hello" she says but Matthew shakes his head and hides his face.

"Come on Matty" Joe laughs.

Matthew looks up at the female Doctor and holds onto Joe. "Hello" he says quietly.

The Doctor smiles happily at him before carrying on with her rounds. "The consultant said I could be out this afternoon or tomorrow at the latest" Niamh smiles.

Joe smiles at her, "that's good news" he smiles.

Niamh looks down at her lap and sighs. "Joe?" She says.

"Yes Hun?" He replies.

"This might sound crazy... but I want to get married this year" Niamh says a little unsure of if she should of said it or not.

Joe sits there shocked taking in what she had just said to him, "oh" he says.

"I knew I shouldn't of said it" Niamh sighs. "You don't want too do you" Niamh adds.

She looks down at her lap again and glances at Matthew who's playing at the end of the bed.

"No Niamh! I never said anything stop jumping to conclusions" Joe smiles.

She rolls her eyes and watches Matthew trying to ignore Joe. "It's just funny I was going to say the same thing" he smiles as he rests his hand on her thigh.

Niamh looks up "seriously?" She asks.

Joe nods and smiles at her happily, "of course I'm being serious" he smiles.

"Oh my gosh" Niamh smiles as she leans over and hugs him tightly.
He laughs and rubs her back as they stay in the hug.

"I want hug!" Matthew shouts at them.

"Shh, Matty" Joe says and he pulls a face and sticks his tongue out at Joe.

Niamh smiles and puts her arm out and Matthew crawls up the bed and hugs them both.

"My perfect family" Joe smiles and kisses Matthews's head and kisses Niamh on the lips.
