The midwife gets a doctor and Joe just sits there holding her hand tightly and kissing it to keep her comforted.

"Please, someone tell me why your here" Niamh urges them.

The doctor and midwife discuss between themselves and look like they're measuring the baby.

"Joe?" She says turning to him.

"Mrs McFadden I know this maybe hard to remember but can you try to remember the times you were sexually active between May and July" the doctor asks.

Niamh takes a gulp and looks at Joe as she thinks, "It... erm... I think there was a time around May ish, why?" She asks.

"Is there any possibility that you conceived then? Only your baby is rather big for just around 12 weeks" the doctor questions.

"Yeah it could of been, so what you saying? I'm thurther along?" She questions.

"Yes, your baby is more developed than a 12 week baby. We can even see the gender that's how well the baby is" the doctor says.

"Your not serious... so how far along am I?" She asks.

"A rough estimate 23 weeks" the midwife smiles.

"What!" She says quite shocked.

The doctor leaves the room and lets the midwife finish up. "I can't believe this so I'm due in... early February... not April" Niamh says.

"I can't either, sooner than we thought" Joe smiles.

"Oh my gosh, we get to meet our baby sooner" she smiles back at Joe.

"So you two going to go out shopping soon I take it" the midwife smiles.

"We've got stuff from our first in the attic so we may just get some stuff" Niamh smiles.

"How old is your first?" She asks.

"He's five, six on Christmas Day... he was a late baby, I was almost induced with him but my waters broke Christmas Eve and early morning Christmas Day there was my baby boy" Niamh explains.

"Awh a Christmas baby, how lovely" the women smiles and gives Niamh some tissue to wipe her stomach over with.

She gets rid of the gel and sits up. "I was two weeks late, little rascal wanted a Christmas Birthday" she smiles as she hops off the bed.

"Eager baby" the midwife chuckles and goes to her computer to print the scan.

"Tell me about it, although labour was 16 hours not nice" Niamh smiles.

The midwife hands over the scan and lets them leave.

They head out and Niamh just can't stop looking at the scan picture.

"My baby.... our baby" Niamh smiles and Joe watches her touching her stomach.

"I can't wait to meet it" Joe smiles and puts his arm around her waist.

"February as well, never really thought I'd have a child born in that month" she smiles.

"And now we will" he smiles.

She smiles and they head out to the car, "seeing as we're both not working until tomorrow can we go shopping" Niamh smiles.

"Good idea" he smiles and he starts the car.

"I can't wait to tell Matthew" she smiles as they drive down the road.

"One thing at a time yeah?" He says.

"But I'm passed the miscarrying stage now" Niamh protests.

"Maybe we can, once we bring him home?" He suggests.

She just nods and sits there quietly as he drives to the nearest shopping centre.

He parks up and turns the engine off. "Let's go shopping" he smiles and gets out the car.

They head to mothercare and start to look around.
