A few days later, Niamh is sat at the table after making herself some breakfast.

She sits there quietly when he Mum walks in. "Maisie is crying again," she says.

"Probably wanting her breakfast too" Niamh laughs.

Niamh gets up and leaves her breakfast and goes up to Maisie. "I'm sorry was I eating without you" Niamh coos and picks her up.

She carries Maisie downstairs and goes back to the breakfast table and starts to feed Maisie as she eats her breakfast.

"Morning you" Joe smiles as he comes in with Matthew.

"Where have you been?" Niamh asks.

"Someone decided he wanted pancakes for breakfast when we didn't have any" he smirks.

"Oh right" Niamh replies as she looks down at Maisie.

"You been up long," he asks.

"Yes, actually I've only just started feeding her" Niamh replies.

"Daddy can you make me my pancakes now" Matthew pleads.

"Give me a minute. Go see what Jordan is doing" Joe says as he watches Niamh.

Matthew nods and goes to find Jordan. "So?" Joe says as he sits beside her.

"Aren't you going to make his breakfast?" Niamh asks.

"He can wait a second" Joe says and sits next to Niamh.

"Oh he'll be happy to know that won't he" she replies as she moves Maisie away and pulls her top back down.

"Well it's the first time I've seen you today" he replies.

"Yeah, been busy, unfortunately. She won't give me ten minutes peace" She replies.

"Did you want me to take her for a bit" he offers.

"Well, she will probably cry. But we can try" Niamh says.

Joe lifts Maisie from Niamh and rocks her to see if she'll settle.

"Come on Miss Maisie, let's give your Mummy some alone time," Joe says as he kisses Niamh's forehead and walks off towards the lounge.

Niamh shakes her head and tries to eat the rest of her breakfast in peace.

Soon her Mum comes back through with a basket of washing. "Are you okay? Do you need a breather? She's quite the handful isn't she" Barbara speaks in a caring tone.

"She is a bit more than Matthew was, she prefers not to be put down most the time" Niamh smiles.

Barbara nods. "Chloe was like that. It's a sensory thing. Being close to you makes her feel safe. She's very jurky in her movements still give her time she'll come too" she explains to Niamh.

"She's only a newborn at the moment but would like to get her used to her cot in a few weeks and try again" Niamh smiles.

Barbara nods "keep trying now she'll soon realise she's okay."

"So what? Just let her cry?" Niamh asks.

"She will get used to it," Barbara tells her.

Niamh continues to eat her breakfast and finish her cup of tea. "Mmm lovely and cold, just how I like it," Niamh says sarcastically.

"Would you like a hot drink dear" Barbara smiles.

"I'm going for a shower" Niamh replies as she gets up and puts her plate and cup in the dishwasher.

Barbara smiles and leaves her to get on with it.

Niamh heads upstairs and grabs a clean towel and heads into the en-suite.
