Airport shenanigans

A couple of hours later Niamh is standing with Maisie as Joe checks their bags in.

"Come on baby girl, let's have some quiet now" Niamh says as she gently pats Maisie's bottom as she cradles her.

"Mummy I'm hungry" Matthew wines.

"You can't be hungry, you had breakfast not long again" she replied looking down at Matthew.

"But I'm hungry again, can we get sweets" he asks.

"No!" Niamh replies as she turns to look if Joe is on his way back yet.

Matthew stands there sulking and Joe walks back from the check in station with their plane tickets.

"Right they said that Maisie will have to be held... I don't think they realise she's 4 days old" Joe laughs.

"She should be fine" Niamh smiles.

Barbara comes over to them with a smile on her face. "Has she settled yet?" She asks.

"Not yet no" Niamh replies.

"Here let me have her for a bit, go get yourself some coffee or tea" Barbara offers with a smile.

"Thanks did you want me to get you anything" she asks.

"I'm fine. Here have a few euros, get yourself something nice" Barbara says as she gets some change out her purse. Niamh smiles at her and Joe go to grab a drink.

When she comes back Barbara has managed to settle Maisie and Joe now has hold of her. "Right then Matthew let's go find you something nice to eat" Barbara smiles as she sees Niamh has returned.

"You alright, you seen quiet" Joe asks as he sips his drink.

"Yeah I'm fine. Just tired you know, she's a handful" Niamh replies.

"She is and she's only a few days old but your not alone, we'll get through" Joe smiles and kisses her head.

"Will we? I feel like it's going to be endless" Niamh mumbles.

"It will get easier, once we get settled I promise" Joe says.

Niamh looks at Joe as her eyes start to fill with tears. "Don't you dare cry on me Lady... I've had enough of Maisie and Matthew" Joe smiles cheekily

"I'm sorry, just finding it more difficult this time around" Niamh sighs.

Joe smiles and embraces her with his free arm. "Look Niamhy, I never want you to feel bad about it, if you're upset or stressed or you're not coping please just speak to me" Joe smiles and kisses her head again.

"Thank you, I love you" Niamh smiles.

Joe smiles at her and just stares at her. "I love you too" he smiles and leans in for a proper kiss.

Niamh smiles, moves closer as she kisses him back. Joe then pulls away and kisses her nose with a smirk. "Now now Joseph, not in public" Niamh smirks.

"There's that beautiful smile I always love to see" he replies.

"You do know how to make me smile Mr" Niamh smiles.

They smile at each other and go into kiss each other. They slightly kiss but part when they hear their flight announcements.

"We better get going" Niamh smirks and they pull away.

He smiles and passes Maisie to Niamh. "Right well we better go and find your mum and Matthew" he chuckles.

Niamh nods and they head back to her mum. They find her Mum and then head off to the gate. "Mummy... can I sit by you?" Matthew speaks as he tries to keep up with them.

"Course you can darling" she smiles.

They get to the gate and Joe hands Barbara and Niamh a ticket each.

They get their tickets and passports checked and start following the crowd to the plane.

They hand their tickets over and are directed to their seats as they board the plane. "Right who's sitting at the window" Niamh asks.

"Me!!!" Matthew shouts loudly.

"Oi, Matthew... quiet please" Joe smiles.
Matthew moves along the seats and sits on the end, looking straight out the window.

"Look at all those planes Mummy!" Matthew says cheerfully as Niamh sits next to him.
