A moment of pure Serenity

He opens the door and smiles at Chloe "oh hello come in" he smiles.

"I hope he hasn't been too much trouble" Chloe jokes.

"No he's been golden, although Matthew did has a little falling out with Jordan, but it's resolved and well boys will be boys" Joe smiles.

"Oh whatever happened" Chloe asked as she walks through.

"They were playing and Matthew is very particular over who is what toy and well Jordan protested and Matthew sat on his head and hit him" Joe says.

"Sorry about it Chlo, I'm a crap mother" Niamh says and gets up and walks into the kitchen.

"Hormones" Joe whispers to Chloe.

"I see... she coping alright overall?" She asks Joe quietly.

"She's been through it all once but she's more stable than when she was pregnant with Matthew, you know with all the things going on with Elliot and we wasn't even together for half her pregnancy" Joe explains.

"I'm glad to hear that, she's lucky she's got you" Chloe smiles.

"Come on Jordan, time to go" she says.

"Yes she's is and I am very lucky to have her, when she's not trying to kill me" Joe jokes as he sees Chloe and Jordan out.

Chloe giggles, "I'm not sure if she's in the mood for chit chat so tell her I said I'll call her" she smiles and they make their way to the car.

"Will do, see you soon" Joe smiles as he closes the front door and turns to look at Matthew still asleep so carries him upstairs and lies him on the bed so he can nap for a while.

He comes back to see Niamh lying on the sofa with her feet up. "Alright hun?" Joe asks as he sits himself beside her.

"I just feel exhausted" she smiles and rests her head on his shoulder. She startles Joe when she bolts up right.

Joe moves out the way thinking she's going to be sick and looks at her with a panicked look on his face. "Joe... here" she beams and grabs his hand and places it on her bump.

"What am I feeling?" Joe laughs and then he realised what is happening "oh my" he smiles as he feels a slight movement.

"Feel that?" She smiles and looks from her bump to see Joe's face.

"Woah... that's a strong one" Joe beams.

"That's our baby Joe, that's our baby moving" she smiles.

"This is so beautiful" he smiles as he rolls her top up and kisses the bump gently.

"Gentle that tickles" Niamh giggles.

Joe smiles and places his hand back on her bump and she rests her hand lightly on top of his.
"I love you Niamh McFadden" Joe smiles.

"Love you too Mr McFadden" she giggles as she cuddles up to his side.
