Birthday Chinese

"You looking at it again" Joe smirks as he starts the engine.

"It's so beautiful, like an Alien but still beautiful" she laughs a little to herself.

"Can't say that about our child" Joe says.

"It's true... Can't believe it's happening again" she smiles.

"Perfection each time" Joe says as he drives with his one hand on her knee.

Niamh smiles, puts the scan back into her bag and looks out of the window for the rest of the journey.

"Chinese?" Joe says and Niamh snaps out her daydream.

She flicks her head and turns to Joe. "Oh that sounds amazing right now" she smiles.

"Chinese it is" Joe smiles as they pass their usual Chinese and pull up.

"But I'm paying" Niamh smiles.

"I can't let you do that" he says.

"It's your birthday, let me treat you" she smiles as they start to get out.

"You can treat me later" Joe flirts as they walk towards the shop.

Niamh giggles as they get into the warmth. "Hi can we have the set meal for two and the prawn crackers please" Niamh says as she orders and gets her debit card out.

Joe holds her hand down and puts his hand in his pocket. "Okay take a seat and we'll get it to you shortly" the person at the desk says.

Joe sits down and pulls Niamh onto his lap as it's the only seat available

"Coincidence..." Niamh smiles.

Joe strokes her stomach and smiles "is it now" he replies.

"Yes, no seats when you were dying to have me sit here" she smiles.

"Oh babe" he smiles and kisses her cheek.

"People are watching!! Stop it Joseph!" Niamh giggles.

"Shh or you'll make it obvious" he smirks, teasing her.

He slips his hand between her thighs and she grabs his wrist and tries to give him a serious glare.

"What's wrong?" He flirts. "You know that look doesn't work" he smiles.

"Stop being an absolute prat" she smirks.

"See, you say that but your face doesn't show it" he smiles.

"Leave me alone, I'm pregnant isn't that enough" Niamh says as she kisses his head.

"Look our dinner is ready now" he says pointing to the counter.

Niamh gets up and takes the bag before they leave and get in the car.

It's not long before they arrive back at the house and Niamh puts the bag on the kitchen counter.

"Right plates" she says to herself as she opens up a cupboard and grabs two plates. 

"Like any help with that" Joe offers.

"I think I can cope" she giggles.

Joe smiles and let's her get on with putting the Chinese onto their plates.

"Go you want these chicken balls?" Niamh asks with a mouthful of one.

"I'll have a couple of the ones you haven't already eaten" he teases.

"I'm so Hungry" she smiles as she eats another as she sets the food out.

Joe sits himself down on the stool as Niamh passed his plate over. "Peace for once while eating" Niamh smiles and sits too.

"I know, I do love that kid but it is nice to have the place to ourselves for a night" Joe smiles and begins to dig in.

She nods in agreement and eats all her dinner and then starts picking at Joe's food.

"Excuse me, what do you think your doing" he says and moves his plate closer.

"I'm still hungry" she smiles.

"Piggy" he teases her.

"Fuck off!" She smirks.

"Fine have my chips" he says.

Niamh smiles cheekily and starts to eat his chips.

She finishes his chips and the washes up before joining Joe on the sofa. "So how was your birthday in the end" Niamh smiles.

"Okay... I guess" he smiles

"What do you mean 'you guess'" she smiles immitating him.

"It wasn't as entertaining as I imagined, I mean hospital of all the places Niamh" Joe replies.

"You know that I am sorry about that, I really am" she sighs.

"This is not a laughing matter... Niamh" Joe replies keeping a straight face.

"I am not laughing! I know how serious that situation could of been" she says looking down into her lap.

"Yes ... now this is still a serious situation" Niamh says.

"The doctor says I'm fine!" Niamh tells him.

"Yes I know that" he replies as he stands up

"Well what then?" She asks him confused.

"You promised me my presents" he says.

Niamh pauses and smiles, "I see" she smiles and stands.

"Where you off too? Bed I presume" he says.

"No, why would you think that" she smiles.

"So, where are you going" Joe questions.

"You want to know what I've got you right?" She asks.

"What have you got" He asks.

"I'm not going to tell you...silly" Niamh laughs. "I'll get them" she says.

"Ooo there's more than one, I'm intrigued" Joe smirks as he smacks her bum as she walks off. Niamh looks over her shoulder and bites her lip before walking off.
