Hospital scan

They head to the hospital and she books herself in for the appointment.

They take a seat and Niamh rests her hand on her stomach which makes Joe smile and he starts to stokes her knee.

"Pretty cute isn't it" he smiles.

"Yeah is it" she smiles looking down at it.

It's not long before they're called into the scanning room. "Hello, would you like to take a seat" the woman smiles and introduces herself.

They both sit down and the woman fills in some forms but can't stop smiling.

"Right, let's put them to the side for now" the woman says speaking to herself then turns to Niamh and Joe. "So Niamh could you just hop onto the bed for me" she smiles.

Niamh takes her shoes off and climbs up onto the bed with difficulty as she's small so Joe gets up and pushes her up a little. "Oh sorry you should of asked for the step" the woman smiles.

Joe smirks at her and she slightly shakes her head at him, smiling.

"So Mrs McFadden this is your second baby" the midwife says as she reads Niamh's health form.

"Yes it is" she smiles and gets hold of Joe's hand.

"Everything been fine so far?" She asks.

"No it's all been fine so far" Niamh smiles.

"Good and your last period?" She asks.

"Look in clearly pregnant..." she replies.

"Niamh!" Joe says.

"What... doesn't she believe me... I am" Niamh says.

"Just tell her" Joe replies.

"Around June" Niamh says.

The woman nods and starts to get everything ready. Niamh smiles and Joe takes hold of Niamh's hand.

"Ready?" She asks and Niamh nods and smiles at Joe. "As you know, this is going to be cold" she says and puts the Jel on Niamh's stomach which makes her flinch a little on the bed.

Joe smiles at Niamh and then watches the woman put the doppler on her stomach.

She watches the woman as she studies the screen which it is positioned away from them.

"Is everything okay?" Niamh asks.

A few clicks of the mouse are heard and the woman starts to smile, "Congratulations...you've got a healthy baby that's growing just as it should be" she woman says turning the screen around for the two to see.

"Oh my... Joe it's perfect" Niamh smiles at the screen and holds Joe's hand.

"Our little baby" Joe smiles and brings her hand up to kiss it.

"Are you sure your last period was June?" the midwife asks.

"Why? Is something wrong" Niamh asks.

"No no, let me just go get a doctor" she says which instantly strikes Niamh's worries.

"...Joe..." she panics and looks between him and the midwife.
