Meal

"Where have you been?" Joe asks as Niamh finally comes into the restaurant with Matthew.

"Stopped for some fans and Matthew needed the toilet" Niamh explains.

Joe laughs at her and smiles "such a kind heart... always think of the fans" Joe smiles.

Niamh blushes and smiles as she helps Matthew onto the chair, "well I try" she giggles.

"That's why I fell in love with you" Joe smiles.

"Stop it Joe you're getting all soppy" Niamh giggles.

Thy both stare at each other and smiles, Niamh then looks away and at Matthew who is sat next to her.

"He can have a bowl of chips as he's already had some food today" Niamh says to Joe.

"I think I'll have burger and chips" Joe says.

Niamh reads through the menu "hmm veggie burger" Niamh says.

"You're a strange one" Joe laughs as he watches her.

"Why am I strange?" Niamh giggles.

"Because you ate meat when you were pregnant now you're veggie again" Joe says.
She laughs rather loudly at him and starts to cry with laughter, "what?" He says.

"You've only just noticed that after almost four years?" Niamh laughs uncontrollably.

"No I've always known" he smiles.

"Eight weeks until the wedding... it's getting closer, already planned my hen. Going out with Lucinda, Niamh McGrady, Camilla, Naomi who Im going to be working on Jamestown with and possibly Ellie and Catherine in three weeks time" Niamh says.

"Well lucky you mine in a week before the wedding so like it won't clash and I can have Matthew for the night.

"That's great" Niamh giggles.

"So I'll order the food now and what do you want to drink?" He asks.

"Diet coke and get Matthew a fruit shoot but not the strawberry one, I'm not having him bouncing off the ceilings" Niamh laughs as strawberry fruit shoots send him hyper.

Joe nods and goes and orders the food and drink, "Mummy I want colouring" Matthew says.

"What's the magic word?" Niamh says.

"Please" Matthew smiles cheekily.

Niamh smiles "well we will see what Daddy brings you back" she smiles.

Matthew smiles and sits watching Joe to see if he does bring something back. Joe comes back and sits down, Matthew sighs and rests his head on the table.

"What's wrong son?" Joe smiles at the three year old.

"Oh so dramatic Matty" Niamh giggles.

"Are you after this mate?" He laughs and shows Matthew the colouring in page and the pencils.

Matthews face lightens up with excitement "thank you" Matthew smiles.

"Good lad" Joe smiles at him.

"Now where was we?" He says.

"Your stag" she smiles.

"Yes me, Alex, John, Terry from Scotland, David, David Ames and James are all going into London for a night out" Joe smiles.

"Lovely have fun won't you" Niamh smiles.

"Same for you" Joe smiles.

Joe smiles at her and strokes her knee under the table as he can just about reach.

"Alright there?" She giggles.

Joe nods and blows a kiss at her, "Mummy look at my drawing of a doggy" Matthew says proudly as he puts the paper in front of Niamh.

"Oh Isn't that just fabulous Matty" Niamh smiles.

Matthew smiles proudly and hands the pencil to Niamh "your turn now" he smiles cheekily.

Niamh smiles at him and draws a flower next to the dog. "I like that mummy" Matthew giggles happily.

Niamh smiles back at him before handing him the pencils again. He then attempts to colour the flower in very carefully.

"Such a mummy's boy" Joe says as he watches Niamh who is sat there admiring Matthew.

"Oh stop he isn't, he's all over you when you play with him" Niamh laughs.

Joe laughs at her "come off it Niamh he is obsessed with you, who's the one he goes to when he's hurt, upset, ill or just after a bit of love?" Joe asks.

"But...I" Niamh stutters.

"Exactly he goes to you, see a mummy's boy" he replies with a smile.

Niamh just smiles and watches as the waiter brings the food to the table. They have the food out and they begin eating.

"Come on Matthew you can finish the colouring in after you've eaten" Niamh says as she takes the drawing away and puts it in her handbag.

Matthew pulls a face and sits there staring at his food, "Matthew?!" Joe says rather sternly.

Matthew looks over at Joe and frowns even more, he goes to get off the chair but Niamh stops him. "No! Matthew you get off that chair and I'll get the lady to get a high chair" Niamh says.

Matthew stays on the chair as he hates the high chair. "Good boy now eat your chips" Joe says as he finally starts to eat.

"What's that?" Matthew says as he points at Niamh's dinner "veggie burger" Niamh smiles as she eats a bit of it.

"What's that?" He says as he points at a little pot on Niamh's plate.

"Coleslaw" Niamh smiles.

"Can I try it?" Matthew asks.

"Sure but I don't think you'll like it" Niamh says as she puts a little on a fork.

Matthew tries it and looks at niamh and he eats it, he grabs her hand and then spits it out into her hand. "Told you so" Niamh says and grabs a tissue and wipes her hand.

Joe smirks and continues to eat his dinner.
