"Hmm, nurse could you get water and something sweet, actually get something like an energy drink" the doctor says as he seems to be pushing rather hand on Niamh stomach now and it's painful.

Niamh winces a little and looks over at Joe. "Excuse me but what does an energy drink and food have to do with out child?" Joe asks a little annoyed by the doctor.

"If your wife drinks an energy drink or eats something, it should wake your baby up a bit as I'm having trouble hearing" the doctor explains.

"Trouble heading the heart beat?" Joe asks and he nods.

"No, you're wrong listen harder!" Niamh says as she starts to get wound up.

"It's probably because it's laying in a difficult position, but we'll have a better idea if you take what we give you" he says to her.

"Okay I will" Niamh says as she picks up the medication out of the nurses hand and takes them.

The nurse smiles and leaves them and the doctor to it. She sits there for a while quietly watching the doctor fill in forms, "I feel sick Joe" Niamh says as she raises her hand to her mouth.

Joe rushes up from his seat, "hey it's ok" he reassures her and looks around and sees a few on the side of the bed.

"No, I can feel it..." she says and stops herself and Joe grabs a sick bowl from a trolley which is passing.

She grabs it from him and empties her stomach into it. Joe looks at her with sympathy, "I'll go and get you some water yeah?" He asks.

"Oh god" she says as more seems to come up.

Joe stops and stands there, starting to run her back.

"What's going on" she says teary eyed.

"Well, would you like to listen?" The doctor says gesturing to the to the dobbler.

"What!" Niamh says worriedly.

"I'll put the sound up and you can hear for yourself" he says and moves it on her stomach again.

Niamh lies back and he turns the sound up, "oh my god" Niamh says tearfully as she hears a very strong heartbeat

"Here's your very healthy baby" he smiles and records it on the screen and steps back for them to have a moment.

Niamh smiles and Joe smiles happily, "see baby is fine" Joe smiles and kisses Niamh.

"So why am I being sick?" She asks.

"The medication you've taken has side effects of vomiting" the doctor explains.

Niamh smiles and turns to Joe, her eyes filling up again.

"Oh babe" he smiles and kisses her head, Niamh quickly grabs his shirt and pulls him into a tight hug.

"So perfect" Joe smiles as he moves his head so he can see the screen.

"So you'll just need to take paracetamol for your wrist for a few days and well drink fizzy pop and food and baby should bust a few moves for you" the doctor smiles.

"Thank you ever so much... and sorry for earlier" she apologises for.

"I shall print this for you and then you can go" the nurse says as the doctor leaves. The nurse prints their scan off and places it in an envelope for them.

"Good luck with the baby" the nurse smiles as she lets them leave.

Niamh and Joe then collect their things and leave for the car in the car park. Niamh gets into the passenger seat and pull out the scan from her bag and finds she can't stop looking at it.
