We got what we wanted in the end

"Neither did i, I honestly thought it would just be a fling but not ending in marriage almost five years down the line" Joe smiles happily.

"I still remember all the sneaking around and the hiding" she says with a little smirk.

"Same but we got what we wanted in the end" Joe smiles back.

"We definitely did" she smiles. "Seeing our ages I did actually think it was just a bit of fun" she says.

"We're not that old babe" he laughs.

"No I mean the gap" she says and looks down before back up at him.

"Does that even matter?" Joe asks.

"No of course it doesn't! I mean I knew you were a great guy and a great friend but at the time I wasn't sure how you felt" she says.

"Well you know how I feel now right?" He asks.

"I knew from the moment you stood by me all those times after I found out I was having Matthew, if I didn't know by now I'd be mad" she laughs and kisses him.

Joe cups her cheek with his one hand and smiles as he kisses her back "I'm madly in love with you" he smiles.

She closes her eyes and pulls away, "and I love you more than you could ever imagine" she smiles.

"I adore you so much Niamhy i love you so much who cares about the age gap" Joe smiles.

"I don't" she smiles. "I would of never have got through everything that has happened if it wasn't for you" she smiles again.

Joe just smiles at her and just at that the food comes out.

Joe turns to the waiter and smiles as he places their food in front of them on the table.

"This is lovely" he smiles.

"Well dig in" she smiles as she also gets her food and starts to eat.

Joe looks at it unsure of what to try first but just digs in and smiles as he likes it "this is brilliant babe... I think you should make something like this at home" Joe smiles.

"I can cook up a thing or two" she smiles.

Joe smiles and carries on eating "I reckon we shouldn't have desert and we just buy something from that shop near the hotel. I was thinking some ice cream?" Joe smiles.

"Maybe you can, I don't really want one" she says and carries on eating.

"No you'll end up eating mine... I know you" he smirks

"I won't I'm really not feeling it" she says with a little smile.

"Right now if you do end up eating mine I'm allowed my own way tonight" he smiles.

"I have no objections because it's not going to happen" she protests and they finish their food.

"Fine" he laughs. She finished her food and places her knife and fork together on her plate. The waiter soon comes over and takes away both of their plates and asks if the two are finished.

They both nod and the waiter gets the bill for them, "tonight has been brilliant" Niamh smiles.

"Yes I really enjoyed it" Joe smiles.

"Shall we head back?" Joe says as the bill comes out and Joe looks in his wallet and gets the money out.

"Yeah" she simply says and makes sure she has everything in her bag.
