Flying home

"Should we get going? We should be at the airport in about an hour" Joe says to Niamh as she is still laying outside.

"I guess so... where's Matthew?" She asks as she gets up and grabs her phone and book.

"He's inside colouring in his book with your dad" Joe smiles.

"Right okay, you go grab Matthew and I'll get the last bits together" Niamh smiles as they head into the kitchen.

she bends over to get her handbag and Joe smacks her bum as he walks by and she gives a little squeal.

He chuckles as he turns to see her instantly standing up straight, looking around. Thankfully she couldn't see anyone. She smirks at Joe as he leaves to go and get Matthew.

Soon their are ready to go and off to the airport with Barbara and Brian.

Brian pulls up in the car park and turns to the three in the back of the car. He nods and everyone starts to get out of the car.

"I don't want to go home" Matthew mumbles quietly as he's tired.

"But you've got too. You're starting primary school next week" Barbara smiles.

Matthew nods slightly before holding out his arms. Barbara smiles and picks him up and he wraps his arms around her not seeming to want to let go.

"Come on Matthew she's coming over for your birthday and Christmas and then we're going on holiday with her in April next year" Niamh speaks up as Joe check all three passports are there.

"Give kisses then matty" Joe smiles to him and he reluctantly frowns.

Barbara puts Matthew down once he's kisses her cheek and then he walks over to Brian.

Brian kneels down to his level and puts his hands on his shoulders. "You'll see us soon... and you've got to tell me all about your school" he says which makes Matthew smile a little.

"I got my uniform, it's red!" He beams.

Brian smiles and hugs Matthew. "Now you behave for your Mummy and Daddy won't you?" Brian smiles and Matthew nods instantly. "Good lad" Brian smiles and stands again.

Niamh also goes and says her last goodbyes before taking Matthew's hand.

She takes a suitcase in her other hand and so does joe and they head into the check in desk. "Mummy can I have a drink?" He says.

"Your drink is in the bag daddy's got" she tells him.

Matthew nods and pokes Joe who is ignoring him because they're checking in for the flight. "Daddy!" He calls as Joe is still distracted.

"Hold on Matty daddy is talking" Joe says and Matthew huffs and throws himself to the ground.

"Oh Matthew not now, look I'll get it you" she huffs and goes in joes backpack and gets a carton of orange juice out.

She zips it back up and Pierces the carton with the straw and hands it to Matthew.

Matthew starts to drink it and smiles at Niamh. "Right Niamh we can head to security" Joe smiles as he lifts Matthew and takes Niamh's hand with his free hand.

They begin to walk to security. "Who's Niamh?" Matthew questions.

Joe and Niamh exchange smiles and he turns back to Matthew "that's mummy" Joe tells him.

"No mummy's name is Mummy!" Matthew protests.

"No Matthew her real name is Niamh... you just call her mummy" Joe smiles.

"That's not true" Matthew mumbles to himself which makes Joe smile.

Niamh smiles and lets Matthew believe what he wants too and the get checked over by security and then let through.

Niamh and Joe do the same and start to head to the plane. "Mummy can I sit so I can look out the window" Matthew asks.

"Sure" she smiles as the board the Plane.

Joe puts Matthew down and he walks in front of them towards their seats. "Matthew stop there" Joe calls.

Matthew stops and looks at a woman who is sat down. "We're here" Joe says as he points to some seats a little forward.

Matthew smiles and runs back to the seats and climbs over the seats to get to the one next to the window.

Niamh takes a seat next to Matthew and Joe sits on the end and sits stroking Niamh's hand as she talks to Matthew while the plane makes its take off. "Wave by to Granny and Granda!" Niamh smiles.

His face lights up as he leans even closer to the window and waves, "bye!" He calls out.

Niamh smiles at him and then looks at Joe "alright?" She smiles and he simply smiles and nods at her.

She smiles turning back to Matthew as Joe puts his hand on her knee and strokes it with his thumb.

"Mummy, Malaysia looks tiny" he giggles.

"That's because we're going up in the air now" she smiles to him.

He smiles and continues to watch out the window.
Niamh places her hand over Joe's, she turns to him and smiles.

He kisses her cheek and smiles. "I'm sorry but I'm thinking about my stomach when do they deliver the meals?" Joe smirks.

She chuckles to herself shaking her head, "once the seat belt sign comes on, they will start to come round to everyone" she smiles.

"I hope it's something nice" Joe smirks.

"What are you hoping to get" she laughs.

"I don't know" he smiles.
She smiles and leans against him in comfort.
