Wedding meal

Once people have found their places Niamh goes and finds Joe ready to sit down.

"My mum said she'll come see you in a bit" Joe smiles.

"Well she is sat on the table with us" she laughs.

"Yeah I know but she wanted to come and see us both later" he smiles.

"Okay" niamh giggles and takes a seat at the top table next to Joe and her dad.

Joe places his hand at her knee as she sits down next to him.

Niamh's mum comes over and passes her engagement ring to her as she held onto it for the ceremony.

"Ah thank you mum" Niamh smiles.

"You're welcome, Right now where is your rascal of a son gone?" Barbara says and Niamh giggles as Matthew is under the table.

"Boo!" Matthew shouts as he crawls out from under the table, he grins cheekily at Barbara and gets up.

"Oh you have me such a fright!" Barbara laughs as Matthew gets up to her.

Niamh smirks and looks at Joe who's busy talking to his friend who is also his best man Andy.

Barbara takes Matthew to where they are both seated and she lifts him onto the chair.

"Why can't I sit with mummy?" Matthew says as he seems rather far away for Niamh and Joe.

"Your mummy has to sit with daddy, why don't we see them in a bit? She told me she wants you to eat your dinner for her" Barbara smiles.

Matthew looks over at Niamh and Barbara can tell hims rather anxious about being away from Niamh so she decides to distract him by showing him the bubbles which are in small bottles shaped like diamonds on the table.

She blows a few of them for him hoping to calm him as they wait for the dinner to arrive.

"Can I have a go Granny?" Matthew smiles.

"Of course" Barbara smiles and hands it to him.

Soon Matthew spots a familiar face and runs over to the little girl who has just arrived with her parents. "Hello Holly" Matthew smiles as he hugs his younger cousin tightly.

"Do you want to play bubbles with me" Matthew asks her.

Holly just looks up at her mum. "Matthew, Holly can't hear you" her mum says.

"Do you want to pay with some bubbles?!" Matthew says louder.

Naomi laughs and bends down to him, "I mean she's deaf, she can't hear darling" she explains to him.

"Oh" Matthew says and he doesn't know what to do next.

Naomi signs to Holly if she wants to play with Matthew and she nods and smiles.

He takes hold of her hand and the go stand in the corner of the room and play with the small bottle of bubbles.

Niamh looks over at the two and nudges Joe. "Look" she smiles as she can see them playing and gathers that Matthew keeps forgetting as she can see him talking to her.

"Bless him... he's oblivious" Joe laughs.

Soon their food start to arrive and everyone takes their seats. Matthew goes back to the table and sits with his Granny and watches as chicken nuggets and potatoes are put in front of him.

"Granny look!" Matthew says excitedly.

"Wow" she smiles as she scoops some veg onto his plate. His face turns as he looks at it in disgust.

He pushes the plate away and frowns, "Come on Matthew" Barbara says.

"They're yacky" Matthew huffs.

"But you need to eat it" she insists but Matthew is having none of it.

He gets off his chair and walks over to Niamh. "Mummy!" Matthew huffs.

"What's the matter sweetie" Niamh asks.

"Granny put white broccoli and very big peas on my plate!" Matthew says.

"You need to eat them hunny because if you do you can have some cake later?" Niamh tells him.

"But I don't like it" Matthew protests.

"Matty you need to be a big boy and eat your dinner please" she asks.

Matthew stamps his feet and frowns. "Joe" Niamh huffs as she taps him.

"Everything alright?" Joe asks as he turns around.

"Tell him to eat his veg"
She says.

"Oh matty why you not eating your vegetables" Joe says.

"They are yacky!" He moans.

"Can daddy tell you a secret" Joe says leaning closer to Matthew.

Matthew nods and listens to joe. "Daddy doesn't like them either but mummy tells me I have to eat mine too" Joe tells him and Niamh looks over at him.

Matthew giggles and looks at Niamh before running off back to the table and Niamh and Joe carry on eating.

Soon they finish their dinner and dessert is handed out, "Geez I'm stuffed" Niamh huffs.

"Aw do you not want any more?" Joe asks and laughs a little.

"Leave me a second... I might throw up" she says as she rubs her stomach and suddenly remembers she's pregnant.

Joe nods and eats the rest of his dessert, She sits up right again and starts to pick at her dessert.

She soon finishes it and smiles over at Joe.

Joe rests his hand on her knee and kisses her again.

Niamh smiles at him and looks over at Matthew who's still eating happily. She starts to hear someone clinking their glass.

Joe grabs her hand and kisses her on the lips, "what was that for?" She laughs.

"Oh didn't you know?" Joe smiles.

"Know what?" She is panics.

"At weddings, people clink their glasses as a request for the happy couple to kiss" he smirks at her.

"What! Who invented that... I mean I don't hate kissing you but what if I'm on the toilet" Niamh says.

"Well I'll have to come and find you" he jokes and smiles.

"Joe I need to tell you something" she smiles but soon a friend of Niamh's walks over and congratulates them so Niamh doesn't get to say anything to Joe.
She smiles and thanks her friend.
