Birthday Party

It's now the day of the party Matthew is going too and Niamh has most of her wedding plans sorted all she needs to do now is book them and pay.

Joe is currently bathing Matthew after an accident at breakfast involving jam on toast and orange juice.

Niamh on the other hand is still looking at wedding dresses on her laptop while Joe isn't in the room.

She finds one she likes which has long lace sleeves and has a low cut neck. She looks at the price and signs "£1600" she mumbles.

She comes off it and looks at cheaper and doesn't find anything she likes. Niamh quickly logs into her online banking and looks at what she has available and what is outgoing payments.

Niamh tries to count up what she'll be paid soon and decides to leave it for a little and looks at some more clothes for Matthew as he's growing out of stuff quickly.

Joe comes through to Niamh after he's bathed Matthew, "what's up?" He asks.

She looks up at Joe and doesn't say anything, Matthew comes through with Joe in his towel and looks at Niamh.

Niamh gets up and lifts Matthew onto the bed, "right pants" Niamh says.

Joe passed her a clean set of Matthew pants and helps Matthew get into them.

"What's up babe?" Joe asks as Niamh stands up straight again. He wraps his arms around her waist and kisses her neck.

Niamh tries to wriggle free so she can continue to dress Matthew.  Matthew giggles at the two "Stop tickling mummy" Matthew shouts as he bounces on the bed.

Joe holds Niamh close and she can feel him grinding himself against her, "stop Joe!" Niamh says.

"Why" he smirks.

"Your son is in here" she snaps and pushes away.

Joe smiles and watches her walk across the room, he sits on the bed and gives her the sad puppy look. She dresses Matthew trying to ignore to playing around.

"Don't try and win me other with that look Joseph" Niamh says not best impressed by him at all.

Niamh helps Matthew put his fancy dress costume on. "Look at me mummy I'm a super hero!" He shouts as he stands on the bed and jumps off before running around the room making 'super hero' sound effects.

"Careful" Niamh says as he bumps into her.

Matthew rubs his head and carries on running around. "You're no fun anymore" Joe frowns.

Niamh looks at him rather stunned, she stands there with her hands on her hips "how dare you say that!" She snaps.

"But it's true" Joe says.

She rolls her eyes "I can't be fun... well I can but my son needs me" she says.

"Our son for a start and well look at him he's very independent of himself now" Joe says which is true.

Niamh huffs and makes her way down the stairs. Joe rolls his eyes and takes Matthew downstairs.

"Niamhy if you aren't up to going I'll take Matthew" Joe says.

"I'm going it's his first party" Niamh replies as she puts her shoes on and gets Matthews out of the cupboard.

Joe watches her and smiles "Niamh? Baby look at me" he says.

She stands and looks at Joe, biting her lip she tries not to cry. "Yeah?" She says.

Joe takes her hands "why are you crying?" He asks.

She shrugs and looks down at the floor and sighs.

He pulls her close and holds her against him, "is it because there will possibly be babies there?" Joe says.

Niamh doesn't say anything for a while and then nods. "Oh babe" he sighs and pulls Niamh into a hug.

Later on Niamh has just arrived at the party with Joe and Matthew. Niamh looks down at Matthew and passed Matthew the present, "go on Matthew go give it Barney" Niamh says.

Matthew walks slowly over to Barney and his mum and hands him the present. He stands there staring at Barney unsure of what to do, his mum crouches down next to Matthew "thank you Matthew, do you want to go play with the other children now?" She says and he gives an unsure nod.

He looks behind at his Mum and Dad before looking back at Barney's mum, she smiles at Niamh and Matthew walks over to the other Children.

Niamh holds Joe's hand tightly and looks around, she watches Matthew go over to a little girl and hug her, "future daughter in law" Joe teases.

"Don't Joe, you will make me feel old" Niamh giggles.

They take a seat towards the back of the room where a few other parents are sitting.

"Lucinda has offered to have Matthew on Saturday night so we can go out" Niamh says randomly out the blue.

Joe smiles "lovely I'll book us a table somewhere, anywhere in particular you'd like to go?" He asks as he places his hand on Niamh's thigh.

"Surprise me" Niamh giggles.

Joe smiles at her and kisses her cheek, "Matthew looks like he's having fun" Joe says as they watch Matthew run around with a few other boys.

"How is our wee boy so grown up, I want the baby Matthew back" Niamh sighs with a smile.

"Oh I know, he's shot up again but still smaller than some of the boys here" He smirks.

Niamh looks at Joe and smiles "oi you saying it's my fault he's small?" She giggles.

Joe laughs and nods "well I bet he'll tower you by his teens" Joe smirks.

They both laugh and Niamh rests her head against Joe's shoulder. "Joe?" Niamh mumbles.

"Yeah?" He replies while looking at her.

"Do you want another baby?" She asks.

He goes quiet for a bit "We can keep trying, but give it a rest for a bit listen to what the doctor said" Joe says and Niamh just nods as he is right.

"I want a little girl" Niamh says randomly.

"Another boy would be nice but a girl would be just as perfect" Joe replies.

Niamh laughs "I don't want to be outnumbered by lads" she laughs.

"I'll put a reminder in my phone to when we make love to put myself into give a girl mode" he jokes.

Niamh just giggles and rests her head against Joe's shoulder again.
