Hot Chocolate

It's Tuesday Morning, Niamh and Joe have just taken Matthew to school and are now on their way to Elstree to go to work.

They get half way there when Niamh can't wait to go in and so down with a nice hot chocolate. "So how about we make a detour, instead of the crappy studio coffee we go for a nice Costa or something, we've got three hours until we're actually needed" Joe suggests.

"Come to think of it...I don't think we've actually been to Costa in a while" Niamh smiles.

Joe smiles and makes a small detour. Once he pulls up they get out the car and head over to costa coffee hand in hand.

"I already know what I'm having" Niamh smirks as she looks up at Joe.

"Will that be with cream and marshmallows? Anyway hope you don't mine I'm having a laté, it won't make you gag will it" he teases.

"Don't you worry, I won't be stealing yours, laté doesn't mix well" she smiles as they make their way inside.

Niamh finds a table and takes her coat off before sitting down. She stares off into space minding her own business while Joe gets their drinks.

Niamh sits there playing on her phone as she waits for Joe to get their drinks.

She looks around the room up from her phone and a girl smile at Niamh so she smiles back.
The girl looks down at her phone and back up at Niamh and starts to walk towards her.

Niamh smiles at her and then looks down at her phone "Niamh, babe, sweetner or sugar with you chocolate?" Joe calls from over the cafe.

"I'm fine" she says and looks back down at her phone.

Joe laughs and goes back to their drinks. Niamh looks up at the girl who seems a little hesitant around her, "are you okay?" Niamh asks curiously.

The girl smiles, "yeah I'm good thank you" she says and doesn't know what to do.

"You know me right?" Niamh laughs and the girl nods.

"What's your name" Niamh smiles putting her phone in her pocket.

"Joanna" she mumbles.

"That's a nice name" she smiles, "do you watch Holby" she asks the young girl.

"Yes, obviously" she smiles feeling a little more comfortable around Niamh.

Niamh giggles at the girl's comment, "have you got a favourite storyline" she smiles.

"I like them all to be honest, I did like the recent one with you and Jac Naylor about the drugs and all that, I found it very gripping" she explains.

"She's quite the character isn't she, Rosie is incredible" Niamh smiles.

Joanna nods a little and smiles awkwardly. "Do you mind if we have a selfie?" She asks.

"Oh yeah sure" Niamh smiles.

Joanna reaches into her pocket and takes out her phone as Niamh stands from her seat.

Joanna catches sight of Niamh's stomach as she drops her coat from her lap but tries not to draw attention to what she's looking at.

She puts it to the back of her mind for the time being and sets her phone to selfie mode. She takes a quick selfie before taking Niamh and heading back to her seat.

"Thank you so much" Joanna smiles happily.

Niamh sits back down and smiles "no problem." Joe comes back with their drinks and puts them down on the table.

"Thank you" Niamh smiles and takes her drink and wraps her hands around it as it's a bit chilly.

Joe smiles at her, "who was you talking too" He questions.

"She's a Holby fan, her name was Joanna" Niamh smiles.

"Oh that's lovely... she didn't want a photo with 'Rara' then he chuckles" he laughs.

Niamh smiles, "she was a little nervous I think" she says.

"Bless her" he smiles as he watches her drink cup of hot chocolate.

"This was a good detour" she smiles as she enjoys her drink.

Joe continues to sit there admiring Niamh in a little world of his own. "I was thinking maybe we should take Matthew out on the weekend, it's his birthday soon and Christmas" he suggests.

"Ah yeah, where was you thinking" she smiles taking a sip.

"Maybe Lego land, or we take him to that indoor water park near Kent?" Joe says.

"Is that a new water park then? He's never been to one of them" she says.

"Yeah, there's like an area for his age group and weaker swimmers so we can take him in there, also he can go on some of the water slides" Joe says.

"We could bring floaters with us and you could introduce him to swimming... while I sit in the small pool" she smirks.

"Why me, your mum told me you are a strong swimmer" Joe questions.

"He's going to be kicking his legs frantically to stay afloat. Can't have him kicking me in the stomach now" she giggles.

"Excuses, excuses" Joe smirks.

"I can Swim Joseph, I was on the swimming team at school" she chuckles and finds herself stroking her stomach again.

Joe smiles, "how about we get going" he says.

"Yeah" she smiles as she finishes off the hot chocolate.

She stands and does her coat up and get make their way to work. Niamh walks into work and Joe moves the car into the studio car park for safe keeping.
