"So I got you a few things for the baby. Although it's annoying me you're not finding out the gender" Barbara admits.

"Sorry mum but it's a surprise" she smiles.

"Why did you find out Matthews then?" Barbara questions.

"Well it was our first so it was all so new" she says.

"Basically Barbara she doesn't want to upset Matthew if she has a girl as clearly Matthew wants a brother" Brian replies.

"So we have to tread carefully... he's already said he doesn't want a sister" Niamh says.

Barbara smiles and laughs. "Oh he'll love it when he or she is here. "

"He thinks the baby will be pre-made and ready to play" Niamh sighs.

"He's going to get a big surprise then" Barbara says.

"I'm not looking forward to that" Niamh laughs a little unsure.

"He'll soon understand" she smiles.

"I hope so" Niamh smiles as she gets up to help Joe in the kitchen.

"What else needs doing" she smiles.

"Just need to sort the gravy" Joe replies.

"I'm on it" she says and gets the stuff.

Joe smiles and watches her get the stuff out. "Have you offered your parents anything to drink?" He asks.

"Oh my god" she panics and goes back  into the living room and Joe chuckles at her.

"Mum, Dad can I get you anything to drink? I'm sorry I complete forgot" Niamh smiles slightly.

"I would love a tea if you wouldn't mind" Barbara smiles.

"Sure! Dad? Would you like tea, coffee, squash or some beer?" Niamh questions.

"I'll have a beer thank you dear, seeing as your mother is driving" Brian says.

"Oh dad" she laughs as he's done it every Christmas for as long as she can remember.
Niamh heads back into the kitchen and turns the kettle on.

"They wanted a drink then" Joe smiles.

"Mum wants tea and Dad want a beer" she smiles as she fills the kettle up.

"We've got cold beers in the fridge" he says.

She goes in the fridge and grabs one and looks at Joe "is murder one of these right now" she sighs and looks down at her bump.

"I'll buy a pack for after the baby comes how about that" he smiles.

"This thing can't come soon enough then" she puffs.

"Won't be too long now" he smiles.

"Two months and fourteen days to be precise" Niamh smiles happily.

"Not that your counting down" he smirks.

"Totally not" she chuckles.

She finishes making the tea and takes the drinks to her parents.

She takes them through and places them down. "Thank you" Barbara smiles.

She sits and sighs, "What's up sweetie" Barbara asks.

"Just tired" she mutters.

"You can have a lay down for a bit if you want you know?" She smiles.

Niamh shakes her head "can't do that" she replies.

"Why not?" Barbara says.

"I need to be awake, the food is on, Matthew needs to be watched" she explains.

"Well if you did just want an hour, only have to ask" she smiles and sips her tea and watches as Brian is able to come away from the floor.

"I'll be fine" Niamh replies as she looks over at her Dad.
"Do you need any help dad?" Niamh asks.

"I'm fine, I'll get up don't you worry" Brian says as he slowly gets himself on to the sofa from the floor.

"So you getting prepared for the big day" Barbara smiles.

"It's ages away Mum, but yes I have the main bits sorted now" she smiles.

"I know I can't help it, I have got some bits for you actually" she says.

"Really?" Niamh asks as her tone changes a little.

"I made a few bits myself, over there in that bag" Barbara smiles and points to one in the corner.

"Oh Mum, I shall get Joe" she smiles as she gets up.

"Joe my mum made some baby things for us, come and see" Niamh smiles as she goes into the kitchen.

Joe looks up and smiles "give me a second babe, we don't want burnt roast potatoes" he chuckles and turns around to the oven.

Niamh smiles and leans against the counter waiting.

Joe gets the tray out the oven and puts them down. "Right let's go" He smiles.

"Finally" she smirks and walks back into the living room with Joe.
