They instantly pull away as Matthew runs over to them. "Mummy, daddy" he squeals as he jumps onto the sofa.

"Hello you... why are you so wet?" Niamh says as Matthew clambers across Joe to get to Niamh.

"Granny took me to the beach but I fell in the sea" he says and looks down. "She says I need a shower" he says.

"Oh dear" she giggles.

"Granny laughed at me" Matthew frowns.

"Oh Matthew" Joe smiles at him.

"Well why don't you go for a shower, I think granny will do you one" Niamh says.

He nods and gets down and looks at Barbara who has walked in from the hallway.

"Careful" Niamh says as Matthew elbows her as he gets off her.

He runs up the stairs and waits for Barbara to put the shower on for him. "He was golden" Barbara tells them.

Niamh smiles happily at her mum and then looks at Joe.

Barbara looks at the two and smiles "I'll put that shower on" she says.

"Okay, I've let Molly out by the way" Niamh smiles.

"Thank you, you got all your bags ready?" She asks.

"Just got to wash a few things and we wanted to see Matthew too" Niamh smiles.

"Well that makes two of you, Matthew has missed you already wondering where you were" Barbara smiles.

"Aww bless him" Joe smiles.

"So when you telling him about the baby?" Barbara asks.

"Not quite yet maybe in a couple of weeks" Niamh says.

"Oh why?" Barbara asks.

"Just have my scan first make sure everything is okay, it's just I had a heck of a lot of miscarriages and I don't want to get Matthews hopes up" Niamh explains.

"That's understandable" Barbara smiles and goes and sees to Matthew.

Niamh rests her head on Joe's shoulder and Joe kisses her head. "I love you" Niamh smiles as Joe strokes her stomach.

Joe smiles and just sits quietly with her, She smiles and leans back against him.

"So this evening? Alcohol free cocktails?" Joe suggests.

"That's a great idea" she smiles.

Later on Matthew has come down from his shower and is wanting Niamh's full attention.

He starts to play with his mini toy kitchen and over to Niamh. "Mummy look I made you tea" he smiles cheerfully and jumps onto the sofa and gives it to her.

"Oh lovely" Niamh smiles and takes the toy cup off him.

"Is it nice" he giggles.

"Amazing" niamh smiles. He giggles and goes and plays again.

"Matthew?" Joe says.

"Yes daddy" he smiles and turns away from playing.

"Me and Mummy will be going soon" Joe smiles.

"Okay, I'll get my shoes" Matthew smiles.

Matthew puts his things down. "No Matthew, me and mummy are going to go on a little holiday" Joe explains.

"Aren't I coming?" He smiles.

"You will be staying here with granny and grandad" he smiles.

"No!" Matthew panics and starts to cry.

"Matthew don't cry, come here" Niamh smiles.

He just stands there crying rubbing his eyes. Niamh stands and goes and picks him up before sitting him on her lap back on the sofa.

He hugs her "I...don't... want you... to go!" He cries as he tries to catch his breath.

"Calm down, it won't be for long I promise" Niamh smiles and hugs him tight.

Matthew looks at Joe who gives him a smile. He then gets off Niamh and hugs Joe which is different as he usually wants hugs off Niamh when he's upset.

Matthew wraps his arms around Joe's neck and hugs him tight and cries.

Niamh places her hand on Matthews's back and looks at Joe who is rather shocked by Matthew.

Matthew sits up "when will you be coming back" he says and wipes his eyes.

"Six days" Niamh smiles.

"But that's ages!" He cries.

"It's not I promise" she smiles.

Matthew just sits there and goes silent. Joe looks at the time and then looks at Niamh who gives a little smile.

"When should we get going?" She whispers.

"Around now, if we want to make it for around eight, nine this evening" Joe explains.

She nods, "I'm just popping to the loo and we'll make a move then" she smiles and gets up

.Niamh comes back down and smiles slightly at Matthew.

"Ready?" Niamh smiles as she puts her shoes on. Joe nods and stands and grabs his shoes.
