Jen's POV

My arm has been killing me all day but it doesn't dismiss me from my obligations with press. It's supported in a sling but I only get to take pain meds' two times a day and it's horrible. The first stop on the press tour is New York which is pretty good, I get to see Katie which I'm excited about, I did see her last week but still doesn't stop me from missing her.

I think she's coming over to the hotel tonight for dinner, I have to stay in a hotel as I have to be close to my security team and they can't all stay at my apartment.

Piper asked for the night off so that she could catch up with a few old friends but I don't think that's the truth behind it. She seemed quite weary and timid while asking for it, I happily gave her the night off though, she stayed with me all night last night and rarely ever takes time off.

By the time I've finished press and managed to drag myself back to the hotel in time for dinner I have to keep shimmying my black trench coat up onto my shoulder as it keeps sliding off which is a huge feat on my part as I've got Alex resting on my hip wrapped in my functioning arm.

Walking up the steps to the hotel I'm halted when I notice Katie's car roaring it's way into the lay by beside the hotel entrance.

"Jen!" She calls to me as she climbs out of it.

Smiling I walk down the steps and smile as she takes Alex from me, allowing me my limited mobility back.

"What's the damage?" She asks as she smiles at Alex's happy grin.

"Broken," I sigh annoyed at my own stupidity.

"You should just roll places from now on, legs aren't an option anymore," She smirks and I chuckle knowing she's kinda right.

"Coming in?" I nod towards the hotel entrance.

"We should go out somewhere," She suggests and I shrug not seeing a reason why not.

Following her to her car I climb into the passenger seat, Katie closes it behind me and soon climbs into the driver side after putting Alex in the car seat she keeps in the back.

"I don't understand how you hack the traffic here," I tell her.

"Hack?" She asks.

"What?"

"My Northern Irish roots have finally rubbed off on you that's what," She tells me and I chuckle at the truth of it.

"You're such a prick," I groan at her as she pulls out of the lay by.

"Tell me something I don't know," She smirks with a wink.

After dinner which was great Katie helps me up to the hotel room, taking both Alex and my bag. Luckily nothing of Darren was mentioned, I think she avoided his name.

"You going back to the apartment?" I ask her and she nods yawning as she stretches her arms over her head.

"I have a lecture in the morning," She replies tiredly and I just nod. I'd like for her to stay but there's not much point, she'd just have to get up earlier in the morning to get to the lecture on time.

As I'm about to speak again I hear a thud come from outside in the corridor so Katie goes over and opens the door investigating the reason behind it.

"Oh shit," She laughs awkwardly and comes back in closing the door abruptly.

"What? What is it?" I ask curiously.

"You're security guard is scoring," She tells me.

"Who?" I ask not sure which it would be. It's Matt and Piper who are with me on press.
