Jen's POV

"I need more Coffee in my life," Katie exclaims and sits down on the couch beside me.

"Same." I laugh back.

"Look Mommy!" Scarlett shouts over to me as she holds up a large stuffed brown bear.

"That's so cool Scar!" I smile back and sit forward on the couch.

"Open your present!" I groan at Katie and lift her present off the floor.

"Okay, okay." She laughs and sits forward.

"Here." I hand it to her.

"Thanks." She smiles and starts tearing at the wrapping.

I watch as she pulls off the remaining  paper, revealing the iPad sign and apple  logo on the white box. I can see a smile grow on her face when all the paper is off.

"Thank you." She looks up and smiles.

"You're welcome." I smile back and hug her briefly before getting up to go play with Scar.

"Hi, Scar..." I'm cut off by someone turning me round quickly and latching their arms around my thighs then lifting me up.

"What are you doing." I laugh after realising it's Katie with a huge grin on her face.

"Nothing." She laughs and begins to shake me from side to side.

"Why are you doing that to Mommy?" Scarlett giggles from behind me.

"No reason." She laughs back and drops me down.

"Weirdo." I laugh at her.

"Whatever you say." She grins then sits back down.

I then sit down on the floor and play with Scarlett for a while as Katie sets up her iPad.

"What day are we leaving?" Katie asks me.

"Leaving?" Scar asks me with a look of worry. In response, I just look at Katie with a scared look and she returns the look.

"We have to go back home," Katie says coming over and sitting down on the floor beside us with her legs crossed.

"This is home, though." Scar replies in a confused tone.

"This is Granma and Poppy's house." I smile softly to her.

"Oh." Scar sighs and looks down.

"Can we not live here?" She asks hopefully.

"No Bug," I say, rubbing her shoulder.

"Why not?" She asks me.

"Cause we can't." I sigh at a loss for words, I can't explain to her about fame yet it's too early.

"I want to, though." She says and looks at both Katie and me.

"We can't Bug. I'm sorry." I smile softly in hopes she will just drop the conversation.

"Why?" She says again. At this point, I'm getting slightly agitated at her determination for an answer.

"Because of my job." I snap slightly, scaring her.

Tears begin to spring from her eyes and she gets up and walks away and out of the room.

"Am I wrong for getting annoyed?" I ask Katie in a sceptical tone.

"If it were me you were  getting annoyed at, then no but her... Yes." Katie sighs back and gets up off the floor.

"I'll go talk to her," Katie informs me and walks out.

I do feel bad for snapping at Scar but I can't help but feel like it was justified. Yes, she was just curious and wanted to know why she had to leave her grandparents and she also didn't know that we actually live in LA. Oh, crap I'm a terrible mother, I just shouted at my four-year-old for asking me a question. After my realisation, I quickly got up and went upstairs to my room where I knocked the door lightly, waiting to be granted entry.

"Yeah, come in." Katie's muffled voice says through the door.

"Hi," I smile guiltily when I see Katie sitting on the side of the bed with Scarlett beside her.

I slowly walk around the bed and over to Scarlett, once I'm standing in front of her I crouch down and begin to speak.

"I'm-" I begin but get cut off by Scar's little arms wrapping around my neck and pulling me into a hug.

That was a surprise. What did Katie say to her? I'll have to ask her later.

"I'm sorry Bug." I smile into her hair.

"It's okay Mommy." She says back and releases the hug.

"Shall we?" Katie says and gets up off the bed.

"Yeah." I smile and pick Scarlett up off the bed.

Later that day

We spent the rest of the day lying around and playing with Scarlett, it wasn't very eventful but it was still really nice and enjoyable.

"I'm goin' to bed," Katie announces and sits up on the couch.

"Anyone else?" She asks.

"Yeah me too." I yawn and stretch my arms.

"I think this one will too." Katie smiles pointing at Scarlett asleep on my chest.

"Yeah." I smile and scoop her up and follow Katie out of the living room and up the stairs.

"Can you get me up in the morning?" Katie ask me as she rubs her eyes when we get to the top of the stairs.

"Yeah. why though?" I ask her, surprised at her request.

"I feel guilty sleeping in on boxing day." She says as she stretches her arms above her head and yawns.

"Oh right, okay well I'll see you in the morning I guess." I smile softly and hug her with Scar's little sleeping body between us.

"G'night."she smiles down to Scarlett as she releases the embrace.

"G'night." I smile back.

"Love you." I shout over to her quickly as she walks in her door.

"Love you too Nitro." she says back and I can practically see the smirk on her face.

"Looks like its just us too left." I say down to a sleeping Scarlett after Katie closed her bedroom door.
